“Rooms were filthy with some kind of nasty stains on the bed and floors. Sheets did not fit the bed. Bed was the worst one we ever slept on with springs hitting us on places we didn't even know we had. No water pressure in shower at all - and where's the coffee? Worst hotel ever! I wouldn't let my dog stay there! Refund - Please.”

“For the price, no complaints. Staff friendly including bartenders, few card dealers were fun to play with others seemed annoyed. Buffet well worth it. Will stay again. I've stayed at other location in Atlantic city.”

“It is a good value hotel in a Downtown location if you don't want to spend too much.”

“Buffet was the size of a 10 by 10 room and there steak was like trying to eat boot leather. We asked for 2 more pillows, they said no you can only have one pillow, hotel just was not what I was expecting and I will never stay there again.”

“The room itself was fine, but the casino is kind of run down. When I found out we were staying at the Sands, I thought it would be quite glamorous, but au contraire! The hotel was smoky, had low ceilings. But it was in a central location so we overlooked it.”

“Being right in the Downtown area of Reno it was hard to find. Having to walk through the smoky casino to get to the hotel front desk puts a bad impression in your mind before you see much of the hotel. The room was very large and spacious and comfortable. For the price it was an okay place to stay.”

“It was a nice hotel, not right on the strip of everything but not a long walk, its nice distance. I loved the view it was a great hotel, the hallways were a little short so if youre tall might not be the best choice. But all in all it was a very nice hotel.”

“Had to wait almost 45 mins for registration itself. In spite of requesting for a queen-size double bed, we were given twin beds. Since the hotel was paid for, we couldnt even cancel. The casino is open 24 hours but the restaurant closes much too early. The "meals diner" was a good place but I am fed up of diners like a decent meal sometimes. No bell boy, no room service, inadequate housekeeping, missing staff. As an Indian I have high tolerance for these kinds of things hotels in India are far better.”

“Rooms are nice and roomy, beds were a bit hard on the back, but sheets were clean, and so was the bathroom. Towels were not dinghy but nice and white. Price was reasonable for a Saturday night, Casino was nice. Meals, dinner was good and a lot cheaper than San Francisco meals.”

“Upon checking in I was told that they had booked me for 4 rooms. My reservation was 2 rooms. They asked for my ID and told me they needed my reservation number which I had forgotten to bring. I called home and had my daughter give me the numbers since they were on the table. Then the next morning, I brought a customer service issue to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager. (Housekeeping had beat on my door 7 separate times beginning at 8 AM) Manager did not apologize and said housekeeping was just doing their job. I insisted to be shown where a warning is posted for the customers saying housekeeping would begin beating on doors all the way down the hall at 8am daily. He couldn't and said for me to have a nice day. This is unacceptable!”

“My husband works in the casino business - so we have visited many hotel/casinos over the years. The Sands was above average. Great rates. Spacious rooms and very clean. Friendly staff. Good food. With a bit of a contemporary "facelift" this hotel would be terrific. I will stay here again!”

“Food is awful for room service/Mel's diner. Mattress in the main building was harder than a rock and kept shocking me. The mattress in the "new" tower was much better. Would only recommend for an inexpensive stay and only in the tower over the roulette area.”

“I was surprised at how nice the room and hotel in general were. I would definitely recommend this hotel for people who don't need all of the frills of a 4 star hotel, just a comfortable place to sleep and keep your things safe.”

“Smoking everywhere, small space, slow elevator, asked to call to request queen bed but ignore it at the registration. I will not use the hotel or recommend it in the future.”
