• The proximity to the ski resort I was at, and to the little downtown area of Lake Tahoe.
• This hotel was ghetto old. It needs a remodeling job to bring it back from 1982.

“I would think twice about staying at this hotel in the future. There are far more affordable options around, even 45 minutes away would be a better hotel, and cheaper. The first room they tried to put us in was an elevator room. It literally sounded like a train was going through every minute and a half. Thank god they had another room available to switch us to.”

• Close to heavenly Ski area Gondola.
• Noisy and not very clean room. I had to request another room which they provided.

“Noisy and not very clean or well kept. One section of the hotel was shut down. Staff not very friendly.”

“The Horizon is a Lake Tahoe casino hotel that is a very good value. Convenient for skiing at Heavenly, there is a movie theater in the casino. The casino floor is small but lively. I've been going up there with my son since he was 13. We always stay at the Horizon”

• The location was great. Walking distance to most of the major attractions in South Lake Tahoe.
• The bathroom was small.

“It was a major holiday and the lobbies and elevators were crowded. The check in lines were quite fast and staff was polite. The view from the room was very nice. The sheets were not fitted and the bathroom was small but otherwise the room was comfortable.”

• valet services heated waiting area (outside) were nice. The Josh's restaurant was a little pricey but food was excellent!
• Noise - Old single pane windows.

• Location in downtown Tahoe.
• Some of the staff was rude.

“Not bad, reasonable facilities, great show, good dining at the buffet. The buffet had excellent service but the front staff was rude, absolutely worst experience in regards to getting checked in but other than that, the hotel is pretty good.”

• Great location and it surpassed my expectations.
• The restaurants run down and pricey.

“I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is old but it's clean, not too expensive and the rooms were clean. The location is excellent. You can want to everywhere in the South Tahoe, which is what I wanted. I was surprised because other people here did not give the hotel a good review. The staff was efficient and friendly.”

• Location was its only plus, and the pool looked nice, although we didn't use it.
• The room smelled like smoke and the beds were terrible.

“It was a terrible hotel. The casino was terrible (even though we won) it was dirty, the room wreaked of smoke (even though it was non smoking) and the beds were literally like sleeping on the floor. I hope I can save someone's a sleepless night, don't stay here!”

• No crowds.
• Check in not friendly, dirty room, hard bed, hard pillows.

“This is a run down shabby hotel. There were several things that need fixing. The elevator doors got stuck half way open, you had to force them to open. The door to the closet would not slide, the bedside lamp did not work the iron did not work. Only 1 bar of soap had to share between the shower and sink. Would not stay here again.”

• The location is good.
• The room had a musty smell, it needs remodeling.

“We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the concert at Harvey's. The location is great - close to the beach, close to action, etc. I have stayed in many hotels and this one is not good.”
