• Close to everything. I though location pretty good,had breakfast at Darlenes, loved it. Close to Solvang also
• It was a bit dated and had to ask for a frig, and never got one.

“Pretty cool place to stay at. Close to Solvang and wonderful dining places.When I got home I watched a old movie called Sideways and everywhere I went and stayed at was in the movie. Likes that part.”

• It was near Solvang
• nobody at front desk, long wait no A/C.

“Very budget....things were broken or just did not work. Right on freeway and VERY noisey. Front desk had to ring bell many times....2 people came in while we were waiting to get rates. They both left after a long wait. Would not stay there again.”

• The morning/day staff was friendly and helpful. It was a convenient location.
• The jacuzzi was not hot or bubbly! The evening staff was not friendly.

“It was a great location to stay if you want to go wine-tasting in Santa Ynez Valley and visit Solvang. We were disappointed that the jacuzzi hot tub was not hot or bubbly! Our room was clean, but the tub showed age and had a rusty towel bar. Walls are too thin. Not good!”

• The grounds were very well kept and parking was easy.
• The beds were very uncomfortable.

“We were kind of leery of staying at this hotel. We felt very welcome by the front desk. Laughed and joked with us during the entire check in process. The room was as clean as most at this star level. Did not find any obvious dirt. The hotel is easy to get in and out of. Right by the freeway and gas stations (but not too close). We did not get up in time to eat the breakfast so we have no opinion of that except that we know they do have one. If you expect a 5 star hotel for a 1 star price, please do not stay here. If you are realistic, go in with an open mind and enjoy the beauty of the area, your stay will be fine. We loved going into Solvang and gambling at Chum ash Casino. All in all, the hotel was quite functional and centrally located.”

• Close to 101 high way.
• Expensive, not recommendable.

“I will not stay there again. There was a window opposite to the entrance door, so any passer-by can look into your room. Curtaining is essential for privacy. They didn't prepare many items for complimentary breakfast. Most gadget were very old-fashioned and some of them didn't work. Only good thing is that it's close to highway 101 and Solvang.”

• Free breakfast, close to freeway.
• Only one double bed, no roll-away for second person.

“Spacious room, tiny bed. Nice balcony with view of pool. Tiny uncomfortable double Murphy bed (!) for 2 people to sleep on and no roll-away was available even though they said they would get one for us. This hotel would be great with new beds - O.K. for one person or one night as is.”

• The slamming of hotel doors when other guests left early in the morning.

• Easy access from hwy.
• A little run down.

“The motel was alright, especially for what I paid. My only real complaint is that the heating/air is not something that automatically shuts off. Really annoying when one wakes up at 4 am sweating to death. Other than that it was alright. The continental breakfast was decent too.”

• Refused to provide receipt-- rude and unhelpful.

“This hotel was very poor quality. Toilet backed up, TV didnt work, staff refused to provide receipt even when I explained I needed it for reimbursement. There are better choices for the same or better price.”

• There were lots of pillows on the bed.
• The public bathroom was disgusting. The beds were really hard and uncomfortable.

“This hotel was cute in outside appearance and actually the room was nice and clean but the bed was very uncomfortable. The TV remote did not work all the time. Just sometimes.”

• It was quiet-very nice getaway from the city I live in.
• The room was very dark (although good if you want to sleep in) and the balcony was extremely close to another building.

“Overall, this was a good hotel to stay the night. Very close to Solvang and walking distance to Andersons split pea soup place. The continental breakfast was good. The room was quiet and clean. Definitely not a luxury hotel, but a fine place to stay for a good price.”

• Continental breakfast was good.
• 44 miles from Santa Barbara! Hotel staff not accommodating.

“This hotel was 44 miles from Santa Barbara! The hotel staff would not get me and room with a second bed as my daughter came with me but did give me a roll-away. It was up to my daughter and me to drag it up 2 flights of stairs as there were no elevators. After pulling my back out, I had a miserable stay in pain.”
