“The Red Lion is a nice hotel, but the price is too high for the accommodation. The hotel is old and it could use some updates.”

“The staff went out of their way to not be helpful. The breakfast was very disappointing, as they refused to make more waffle batter and consequently we went to eat elsewhere. The price was good. The bathrooms were remodeled and nice.”

“Nice, clean, good breakfast. I forgot my dive watch after checking out and the staff kept the watch and returned to me immediately after I came back to ask for it.”

“Needs updating in the rooms - train noise is a problem.”

“The pool was gross, floating hair and debris. They are unwilling to put Rockaway's in rooms with 2 queens, not great for families where kids want their own beds. The TV was not working and the front desk took no interest or care in my concern.”

“A very good choice, very nice facility (but bring your own pillows). While railway runs behind hotel, really not noticeable.”

“The hotel was ok. I paid $20 extra for a second bed which boosted up the cost of the hotel not making it a very good value based on what we got.”

“Overall the hotel was good. My room was on the back corner, bottom floor. The A/C blower was a bit loud. The worst thing was the trains that pass the back of the building in the middle of the night. Being on the very back of the building ground floor you could hear and feel them pass in the middle of the night not allowing for very restful sleep.”

“Family-friendly, nice staff, big rooms, updated bathrooms. The pool water was cloudy and dirty (not that the kids minded) but the pool area had plenty of reclining chairs and extra guest towels. The pool was well-secured by a high fence; the gate could only be opened by an adult-sized person.”

“We were stuck in a single queen. There were stains on the carpet and the air conditioning unit was unreasonably loud. The bathroom had a film on the mirror and the floor that looked as if it might be hair spray, but had gone uncleaned previously. This hotel is near the railroad tracks.”

“Hotel and staff were excellent, some slight problems with the room but did not take away from our vacation.”

“While staying here, I lost my wallet (with my money, credit cards, and ID). Not only was the front desk unwilling to assist me in rectifying the situation, but they handled it by accusing me of being dishonest. Instead of being sympathetic, the front desk clerk requested to know how I'd managed to check in without those items. I'd stayed at the hotel for multiple nights and lost my wallet on the second day of my trip. Never again will I stay here.”
