• This hotel had a kitchenette, which was nice.

• The rooms very spacious, there was a kitchenette and refrigerator and microwave.
• Free continental breakfast would have been good.

“The Holiday Inn in Santa Maria is one the better places to stay around the central coast. The rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette, microwave and refrigerator. Overall, very clean and has a nice bar and grill which has quite convenient hours. Overall, its a pretty good value for the price. It's also right off of 101, making it an excellent location. Its also just 15 miles from Pismo beach and other popular places around the Central Coast. Highly recommended.”

“Friendly staff, decent price for the amenities, close to the 101, particularly if you're heading north. Don't know if this is typical of the clientele but my room was next to a very loud couple.”

• We were impressed with clean, sharp appearance and location.
• Nothing. It met every expectation.

“Our one night experience was excellent. We stayed in a roomy, clean suite and had a wonderful night's sleep. We did not experience the other accommodations but assume they would be of similar quality. We will stay at this Holiday Inn again.”

• The colonial look and old photos on the walls in the lobby area.
• The wine bar/lounge was cramped and short staffed and also short of glasses and dish ware.

“Outside looks good. Lobby area was kinda charming. Non-Historic rooms spacious but worn. The Prime Rib at their restaurant was poorly done, despite their 86 years of experience serving it. They have had long enough to get it right and probably ought to quit. The rest of the food served was quite uninspired. The cooks are just going through the motions. Eat elsewhere and you might find a memorable meal.”

• Restaurant was lacking.

“It was a great hotel room, very spacious and clean. The restaurant could have had better choices though. For the price, the food wasn't worth it.”

• No chairs on balcony for sitting.

• Television selection.
• They tried to put me on the floor that was being remodeled.

“There was no notification that the pool was unavailable due to remodeling. I could have chosen a variety of hotels much closer to my location, but chose this one because of the heated pool. I was hoping to swim a little bit so my trip would not be all business and sleep. The hotel was undergoing a lot of remodeling. The staff originally gave me a room on the 1st floor, but the walls were unpainted drywall (in the hallway) and the hallway was full of furniture from the rooms. I asked to be put in a room higher up and they did so without any problems. During my stay, I noticed that they finished painting, but they were using drills and other tools on the first floor still. If I had stayed on that floor, it would have been very noisy and unpleasant. The hotel would have been fine if not for the remodeling.”

“After a full day of nearby wine tasting this hotel fully served its purpose. We decided to stay and try the food at the hotel which was called portabella and had a wonderful meal that included a very tasty filet with good service¿”

“If bed were not sagging it would be excellent. Despite the relative closeness to freeway and inevitable seepage of traffic noise into room.”

• The people at the front desk were very nice and it looks very good from the outside.
• The 2 chairs arms were dirty, behind bathroom door soiled, toilet handle soiled, no power to 2 lamps, open condiment package, and dirty shower curtain.

“I was very disappointed because I¿d only heard nice things about this hotel. I want my money back.”

• Poor quality picture on the TV.

• Very quiet and clean, especially liked kitchen with all utensils.
• Near Harley Dealer so loud bikes go by often during the day.

“Nice looking hotel, very quiet, clean and spacious rooms. The staff was very courteous and helpful. My room had a kitchen and all utensils including wine glasses which we found very convenient, since their are so many good wineries in the area. We will stay again next trip.”
