  • Nothing.
  • Door lock did not work. Old. Smelly. Noisy AC. No breakfast included. No mountain view.

“Had to move rooms twice due to door lock not working. Non smoking room smelled like it had recently been smoked in. Room in serious need of refurbishment. Noisy air conditioning. Could not sleep with it. No breakfast included. Every other motel we stayed in included breakfast. Most expensive motel we stayed in. Discussed issues with member of staff, who couldn't care less. I guess people complain all the time. Worse place I have ever stayed.”

  • Nothing.
  • The staff was extremely rude, we were told to go to another hotel 30 miles away since it was overbooked, and we were stuck in a smoking room.

“I tried calling the hotel earlier in the week to let them know that we would be a late check-in and the staff person was extremely rude and told me that I did not need to let them know because they were open until late; I do not think that she was clear on the concept of what "late check-in" meant. So, when we arrived the expected date, we were told that we did not have a room since they over-booked. They then referred us to another hotel of the same chain in Santa Maria, about a half hour away! To make matters worse, when we arrived at the Santa Maria site, we were assigned to smoking rooms (we were not informed of this detail prior to going there)! The rooms smelled awful and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Overall, a horrible experience!”

  • Convenient for beach/biking.
  • Only one restaurant within 2 miles. Musty. Leaky plumbing. In dire need of refurbishing!

“This hotel has a pleasant exterior, and friendly staff, and reasonably spacious rooms, however the rooms are in dire need of repair and refurbishment (leaky plumbing, non-working bath vents, dank and musty). They have one or two 1st floor rooms that have just been refurbished - only stay here if you can get one of these.”

  • Location, clean room, excellent Dinner (Margie's Diner).
  • No elevator.

“Recommend to all traveling North/ South on HWY 101. Can't beat the price. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, lots of parking, beautiful rose gardens.”

  • Quiet.
  • We found roaches. Sliding glass door had no screen.

“Refrigerator & micro not plugged in at check-in. Musty odor in hallway. Nice rose garden!”

  • The roses were plentiful and lovely.
  • When I first arrived, I had to wait a half an hour for the hotel clerk to show up. There was no one behind the desk.

“It was neat and pretty. It was clean but the motel desk staff was basically incompetent. I practically had to be for a map of the town and were often not at the desk when needed.”

  • Proximity to the freeway.
  • The room was horrible. The pillows were lumpy and seemed very old. The bed was hard, with no padding and the sheets were old and thin. No iron.

“The bad: The room was horrible. There were only 2 small pillows, and they were lumpy and seemed very old and thinned out. The bed was hard, with no padding or cushioning and the sheets, including the comforter were old and thin. There was no air system, and the steam from the shower invaded the whole room making it very hot and muggy despite a Luke warm shower and the window wide open. There was no clothes iron, or blow dryer, or coffee pot. Tiny small towels barely covered my hair, much less my body. No elevator to the second floor. It was hard to carry luggage up the stairs. The good: The room had an excellent TV with great programming. The room had a refrigerator for our left over, and a microwave. Nice pool and two Jacuzzi. Very close to the freeway and an outlet mall. Walking distance to the beach.”

  • Great location for what we wanted. Clean and comfortable.
  • A little shabby and run down.

“I rather liked this hotel. We were looking for a clean and comfortable room at a reasonable price in the San Luis Obispo area. We thought this would be a tall order as it was the Fourth of July holiday. However, we were able to get a very reasonable rate here. This hotel was right off the freeway, quiet, and clean. The decor was a bit shabby and dated but I thought that added to the charm. The rooms were large and comfortable with a nice bathtub (big enough for two people. The pool (regular pool and wading pool for kids) looked inviting although we did not swim. The restaurant next door was fabulous. Good prices and an excellent value. The servings were huge! Overall, we enjoyed our experience here and will be coming back the next time we are in the area.”
