“First time here, I was impressed by the room for the price, and so, I've stayed at this motel several times now. The rooms (recently remodeled) are spacious and nicely decorated. The beds are comfy and clean (but the pillows a bit too fluffy for my taste - that by the way is my only complaint). There's a fridge and microwave, plus the basic stuff. Nice big bathroom, very clean. Also, the staff is very accommodating (got us checked in early), friendly, and seemed truly proud of their job/motel. I'm a fan of this place.”

“This was a great hotel. Our room had a fridge, micro & coffee maker. It also had a flat screen TV. The breakfast is tasty & satisfying; there were breakfast burritos, cereal, waffles, assorted scones & muffins, juice & coffee. The coffee was pretty good too! A bonus is the little shampoos/soaps were from Bath & Body Works! It was in a great location, only 20 minutes to Bachelor. Has an outdoor pool and hot tub, although the hot tub is pretty tiny.”

“Very convenient to the highway-watch out, in this part of OR street signs for turns and highway intersections are posted several blocks in advance of the intersection-"next left" is not always the next left, but rather the next MAIN left turn. Some local maps show a second Red Lion (South) but this has been sold. There is only one Red Lion motel in Bend, OR. The lobby was being remodelled and was not very accessible. This should be done by winter 2005/6. The highlight of our stay was the very friendly and knowlegable staff-answered all our questions about the area. The pool was closed, but then again, it was early November, it was snowing the following morning andf it was not an indoor variety. The fridge and microwave were welcome. The continental breakfast was a bit skimpy, but sufficient for carbo needs. Better coffee and pastries etc, can be found downtown, approx 1/2 a mile-turn right out of parking lot, take the next right at the traffic light and turn left 2 lights down. Go around the block (1-way streets) for Deschutes Brewpub for great beer and food-esp their pizza varieties.”

“The hotel location was convenient though in a busy section of town that made it difficult to get on and off of the highway. Clerks were friendly and efficient. They are in the process of remodeling so be aware that the lobby is shut down partially and continental breakfast is relocated to one of the rooms. Overall, it was a satisfactory hotel, nothing grand, but not disappointing either.”

“When we made the simple request of a first floor room as opposed to top floor, we were given an extreme rolling of the eyes and a big sigh. Same thing the next morning when we mentioned that the coffee thermos had run dry. While checking out, other customers were given a survey to complete. We were not.”

“I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it to my friends. Seems as though it is about to go down. I had to clean my own toilet upon arrive and should have probably complained but I'm not likely to do that. My comment is that I will never stay there again.”

“Pretty basic hotel. TV is small, the lobby is being remodeled, the continental breakfast was one of the worst I have seen.”

“It was nice, convenient for us, clean, roomy. We would stay there again. Our only complaints were that the coffee supplies were missing the second day and it did not have a bathtub.”

“Not what we expected for a Red Lion. Looked like it may have been a Motel 6 that was being converted from the outside. Enter rooms from the outside. No - smoking sign on the door but the room smelled strongly of smoke. They quickly moved us to another non-smoking room that was fine. Nice to have a refridgerator and microwave. The continental breakfast was very good. Hotel staff was exceptional. Spa was roped off. When asked why and when it would be available they told us it would be fixed the next day - it wasn't. The following day we asked again and again got the same response. It was never fixed the entire 3 days we were there. Rooms were ok, they were painting the outside and some of the items in the room were new.”

“The Red Lion North is an older but well maintained hotel. There is a restaurant and grocery store nearby which is really convenient. There was some traffic noise but otherwise a nice stay.”

“Some unexpected perks were nice ' like the small fridge and microwave in the room! It was nice to have the continental breakfast, but it definitely was no frills. I like having a tub/shower combo in the room. This one only had a shower in the room. It'd be nice if the staff asked your bed / shower preference BEFORE they assigned your room. If asked, my wife and I would have requested a single bed instead of the two doubles, and a tub/shower. They did give us free high-speed internet, which was also a nice perk.”
