“The owner was very accommodating and let us in before check in time. We walked into our room which was so comfortable we didn't want to leave. In fact we didn't go for a walk on the beaches until evening electing to stay in our cozy room and let the decor soothe us. It was great and I was thrilled with the accommodations especially for the price!”

“It was what I expected it to be for a one star economy hotel. My biggest complaint is that the manager was not willing to give us a non-smoking room even though he had opportunity to do so. I would have been fully satisfied if it wasn't for the poor attitude, but as it is, I wouldn't recommend staying there.”

“The Hotel was an O.K. place to stay. The room had a funny smell, the door wasn't working properly, you could hear every footstep of the people above us and the smoke alarm went off @ 7:00 a.m. We did not go to stay the whole time in the motel, so it was not that bad. I'm glad we didn't stay another night.”

“The exterior paint is not very pleasing to look at too many weird colors. Owner was nice and helpful and he did speak English. They don't seem to be able to supply extra towels very easily, and the spa was very small and it is really close to street. Not very private, need to close street exposure. All in all we were ok, we found a little diner across the street and we ate there twice. They were nice people. I could tell there were doing some remodeling. New tile in bath room, and some new windows and new air conditioner. It could be a nice place in the future.”

“We had next door and above neighbors that were drunk all night and were screaming, jumping and very disturbing that they did not let us sleep and reception did nothing to control it. Also the bathroom was dirty, stained, and dusty. We asked for a 2 bed and when we got there they did not give what we asked for, so we purchased another room and they charged us more for this one. Limited parking.”

“Great waffle maker in the breakfast bar. Good location (close to Monterey) and decent value. A little noisy from the adjacent rooms but overall a good stay.”

“I was happy with our stay. It's nothing fancy, but the staff is friendly, there's a spa (hot tub) and the rooms were clean.”

“It's a little more than a motel. Check in was easy. I parked near my room, and I did get a 2nd level room which was nice. There was quite a bit of early morning noise though, but that is not fault necessarily of the hotel itself.”

“We were trying to find something cheap close to Monterey, so this hotel was fine. It was easy to get to it from Highway 1 and easy to get into Monterey the next day. The room was small and it was hard to figure out how to turn on the heater, but otherwise totally normal for this price. We were on the second floor and it was very quiet at night.”

“The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Lots of construction going on and driving through the parking lot was difficult. Staff was friendly and helpful.”

“The hotel was obviously mend to be used as a "transient" accommodations, as indicated by the various vehicle and the conditions of the hotel upon our first arrival. The room was neat in appearance but dirty and the bed smelt badly. Because of this we decided to leave and not use the room. The hotel was going under some construction, but that in no way had an effect in our decision to leave.”

“The staff was friendly, the beds and bathroom were clean. The bed was average, but the shower was nice and hot in the morning. The continental breakfast was better than expected with fresh fruit, a selection of muffins, pastries, cereals and juice/coffee.”

“The hotel's website lists a (significantly) lower price than what I had to pay. If I had known how cheap the room really was, I would have stayed elsewhere.”

“Most hotels will work with you and get you either a second bed or a rollaway at no extra charge. Even if the rollaway is an extra $10, I have no problem paying for that. This miserable hotel charged me an extra $25 for a room with two beds rather than one. At first, they told me they had nothing and no rollaway, but might be able to find a futon. Then, when I insisted on a room with two beds, a cancellation conveniently popped up with the $25 fee a requirement. The neighborhood in which this property is located is not very good, and the common areas are in disrepair. The room was clean enough, but there is a strong smell of disinfectant in the air.”

“Just don't expect much (you get what you pay for). It's fine if you are not too picky. Don't get your hopes up about the "complimentary continental breakfast". It is basically ego waffles, cereal, milk, and bananas.”

“Old, seedy-looking, one and two-story old buildings, drywall stacked in covered outdoor hallway to room; live cockroach in room; OK breakfast, but provided in cramped room by office; shiny new tile in bathroom, but old, dingy decor otherwise; white refrigerator and microwave stacked hap-hazard along wall, mattress edge slumped toward floor, wedging me into sharp corner of bed table; dirty and difficult-to-regulate electric baseboard room heater (cold/hot room). Desk person had difficulty quoting me a real regular room rate, saying it was variable (?)--couldn't tell if I even got a deal. ”

“When you rated the hotel a 1, this is very true. I believe I could have stayed in a nicer hotel for the price I paid. I will never stay in this hotel again. It so much reminded me of a roach hotel. Problems with having to access my room with the room key, the bathroom smelled bad, the beds were very uncomfortable.”
