• Location was good.
• (Apparently) Recently cleaned rooms had a slight chemical odor.

“An acceptable place as you expect Holiday Inn to be. Everything works and the price is right, and the location is convenient.”

• Its proximity to the freeway.

“This Holiday Inn is an older hotel that has not been remodeled or updated in many years. The hallways are dimly light, the carpet is beyond its useful life and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. Management clearly put its money into refreshing the lobby and bar areas that receive the majority of first-contact foot traffic.”

“Evidence of numerous bed bug bites on my son's foot; perhaps more than a coincidence that carpet was being replaced at time of check in.”

• Great breakfast.
• Cigarette smoke smell in bathroom morning of 4/19 from lower room.

“OK. Cigarette smoke, pounding on door(s) in hall - there was a boys volleyball tourney in town. One and only elevator is rickety and loud from floor 1 to 5. Disco at night, people smoke outside the entrance to the hotel while outside the disco.”

• Friendly helpful staff and hot breakfast and refrigerator in room.
• No hair conditioner provided - just shampoo and lotion.

“Nice facility. Friendly helpful staff. Large room with refrigerator. Nice outdoor pool area. Excellent hot breakfast complimentary. Evening entertainment / club.”

• Pleasant, Clean, Great breakfast, Great location.

“We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel guests all spoke to us while we passed them by in the halls or dined by them in the banquet room. Hospitality is a great thing. The staff was very pleasant too. We thought that we received a good deal for staying overnight during a weekday and that always makes us feel better especially during this economic down turn.”

• Great restaurant. Really good breakfast included.
• Room a long way from lobby. Lot’s of confusing hallways.

“The bed was comfortable, the shower excellent and the restaurant way above usual hotel dining with a choice of American and wonderful Indian cuisine. It is close to shopping and highways and I found it to be very quiet.”

• Insane nightclub scene - felt unsafe taking my child through lobby - screaming fights at pool at 1 am.

• Let me check in at 3 am, it was great, kid was going to college, 9 hrs away, they were great!
• They are to close to the high way, air conditioner keep clicking off and on.

“The hotel staff was great, allowed me to check in at 3 am. Drove for 9 hrs from home. Daughter was going to college, breakfast needs a little work!”

• Recently renovated, nice furnishings.
• Noisy wedding parties and events at conf. center.

“The Holiday Inn recently upgraded it's rooms, nice beds, granite baths, etc. Location is north of downtown Chico, but close to downtown. As the largest facility in town, it gets its share of wedding parties, conference events and loud bar action. Overall, not too bad, very pleased with the upgrade.”

• The pool was fabulous. Great location close to 99. Clean.
• They did not allow us to have continental breakfast. Staff did not answer guest services line.

“Although it was renovated recently I would not categorize this hotel as a 3 star hotel. I was run down in spots and the rooms were very crammed. Our room fit our king and that's pretty much it. The hotel would not answer the guest services line to help us book a taxi, and the taxi numbers provided in the hotel handbook were wrong. Luckily there was a phone book. However the hotel bar was a fun spot in the evening with a variety of people. The pool was gorgeous and clean. I enjoyed the time I spent out there. The hotels location was perfect and it was easy to find. It is the perfect place to stay for a couple days while traveling.”

• Beds were comfortable and remodeled.
• The bar was way too loud, the Base could be felt in our room and went till 2 AM - wouldn't stay over weekend again for that reason.

“Clean, remodeled and comfortable for the Chico area, but not even close to the quality. Very comfortable bed and nice full egg, bacon, sausage and more breakfast. I can sleep through anything, but the base thumping gave me and mom a bad headache. Pool area was very nice although they most have hired someone very cheap to redo the pebble surround because it was falling apart and hurt to walk on, but with shoes on it's a great pool area for the family. So other than the loud base from the bar till the wee hours.”

• I had a breakfast sausage with a bad taste (yesterday's reheats?).
