• Clean and easy to find.
• Can't close drapes outside night light from hotel kept blinking all night.

“The receptionist was very accommodating and the room was clean. The continental breakfast was great lots of choices for beverages and breads. However, didn't get much sleep because the motion light from the hotel parking lobby kept blinking all night and we couldn't close the drapes. We were stuck and didn't get any sleep! I was very disappointed.”

• Large room.
• Sour milk in the breakfast buffet 2 days in a row.

“The lobby, halls and breakfast room are all unheated which is rather unpleasant. The room was large and clean. I was not able to connect to the WiFi from my room, but as I tried Norton informed me an attack on my computer was thwarted, nice. Hard wired connections are still the best. I will explore other options next time.”

• Friendly staff, large cleans rooms.
• Under renovation, so no lighted sign yet.

“I loved this place and will definitely stay there again. My daughter will be attending the state university nearby and this will be our hotel! The free breakfast buffet was the best Ive been to. The friendly staff made our stay great too. No disappointments here.”

• Recently redecorated room.
• Near freeway.

“In process of upgrade spacious room with good amenities coffee maker fridge wireless internet friendly helpful reception seafood for budget business traveler and for family just interested in room rather than hotel as location. Convenient to attractions of Monterey and Carmel.”

• Rooms have been newly renovated. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
• Breakfast area is a little small. Elevator is slow.

“This is an older hotel that has just been renovated. Room has nice interior design but still show some traces of old hotel. Bath room has strong chlorine smell that we have to close its door all the time. Staff is very friendly and helpful with tour guide. Elevator is very slow and noticed that the permit for it has expired.”

• Very comfortable and clean.
• The continental breakfast was terrible.

“We will definitely stay here again. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were really comfortable. They were even decorated cute! Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for stay in the Monterey area.”

• Simple clean and neat with nice extras like the mini fridge.
• There weren't full curtains to keep out the parking lot lights.

“It was simple and very clean and the staff was accommodating. You must enjoy 70's style furnishings because the rooms are certainly just that. I just didn't appreciate the bright parking lot light coming through the windows with no way to block it. The beach was so close and nice and everything in town was convenient to get to.”

• We were very pleased with the size of the room. It had a nice sitting area for relaxing and reading.
• The area for breakfast was very small same with the parking area.

“The hotel was very clean. The room we had was very comfortable. The personnel were very helpful with information on finding restaurants in the area for breakfast meals. It was not that far from the aquarium, cannery row and other tourist attractions.”

• The hotel is cheerful, friendly and convenient to 101 north and south. Close to restaurants. Also peaceful.
• Very basic...but what else does one need for travel en route to other areas.

“The quiet, clean and pleasant atmosphere of the hotel is of high quality. It's location to all facilities pertaining to Monterey is outstanding. The staff are helpful and cheerful. Any traveler would be pleased to stay at this quality hotel. However, it would be nice to know if AARP/AAA or any other senior discounts are available at the time of making reservations.”

• It was clean, new carpeting, bedding, furniture, etc.
• Would have liked the hotel to be closer to Cannery Row
