“Very old motel which needs some TLC. Good location within walking distance of several good restaurants. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The closet was nearly inaccessible.”

“Great hotel for the price. TV was small, but room had a fridge, coffee maker and AC/heat. Perfect for the solo traveler!”

“Alright for the price, but no palace. Built when a small room, a telephone, a shower and a TV were all luxuries to the average American, the motel, through no fault of its own, cannot be any better than it is. If you are a neat freak, or expect to stay somewhere that looks so clean that you'd never suspect that hundreds of thousands of people had at one time or another stayed in the same room, then this place is not for you. I'd stay again just based on the, but not for any aesthetic reasons.”

“This is my fifth time to stay here. I stay here because its the cheapest place in town and whenever I come to Chicago, I always have to stay for at least a week. I wouldn't classify this place as a "dump." It's $35 a night. What do you expect? Egyptian cotton sheets, room service, and daily massages. Please, if that's what you want and can afford, go to the hotel diamond downtown. For $35 a night, I have a bed, fridge, TV with about 60 cable and local channels, a shower with hot water, an AC that works, a coffee maker, Wi-Fi access, and a small pool. That's more than enough for me. There's housekeeping service every day and I think the room's lighting is fine. The people who run the place are nice and friendly, and whenever I need something, they don't hesitate to help me out the place is in walking distance to a variety of fast food places, restaurants, and grocery stores raley's, jack in the box, carl's jr, blockbuster video, osh's, java detour, dairy queen, and if you have a car, it feels like it's the centerpoint of the city. Esplanade is between mangrove and nord avenue, and i can get to anywhere in town within minute, even the other side of chico, since 99 is about two blocks behind the motel. I always travel everywhere with my own blanket and pillow, so i can't comment on the bedding like i am forced to use it, however, i can tell you that i am a huge germaphobe, and i don't freak out about touching any of the surfaces and textiles in my room. I know for a fact that they clean the rooms every day, because i hear the vacuums going all the time. I'am actually staying at the motel now to do my thesis defense got in on the 27th of march, and am leaving the 6th of april.”

“For the price I guess I could not complain, the staff was pleasant, but the room was filthy, the shower had mold growing on the floor so I did not use them.”

“If traveling to Chico for an event at the u, or a business meeting and traveling by yourself, then I would highly recommend the safari inn. If your looking for something with a view, or a little more romance, swimming pool etc, the this is not the place. Overall,,, it was a great stay for me. Quiet, easy parking, easy check in and out, and a clean room and an affordable price.”

“Hotel was clean and cozy, A little on the small side. It looked as if they put two queen beds in a room that really could not accommodate more than a king at best. The strange looking bug on the bathroom floor was disturbing. It was big. The desk clerk was very nice which helped make it a pleasant experience.”
