• The staff was exceptional and the rooms were fabulous.
• Nothing.

• I liked the location, the suite-like room, having a shower and tub, the garden patios and spa.
• The heavy shutters kept the rooms too dark during the day and the elevator was extremely slow.

“I was very pleased with our room. It was very thoughtfully arranged. The sitting area was separate from the sleeping area. I regret that we had such a short time to spend there as the ambiance would have made a longer stay even more enjoyable.”

• Hotel was nice, clean, airy, simple yet contemporary and not frilly.
• Continental breakfast attendants were helpful, but one of them wasn't very pleasant. Maybe they were just busy.

“I didn't expect this from the 2.5 star rating of the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here, and we'd definitely go back! The complimentary continental breakfast was very good as well.”

• Loved the fireplace/turn-down service/balcony/decor/spa.
• No pool. Wish the ceiling beams hadn't been painted.

“Pacifica Hotel exceeded our expectations. Cozy and beautifully decorated, the room was just lovely. Especially liked the little areas - sleeping, dining, office, and lounging in front of the fireplace. Turn-down service was sweet - loved the little Shamu on our pillow. Service was excellent. Wish there had been a pool. Also wish the ceiling beams had been left as natural wood. Minor concerns, though. Overall, our stay was very pleasant.”

• The room accommodation were outstanding--fireplace, comfy beds great afternoon tea & breakfast.
• A little bit of noise from the open corridors.

“The location of the hotel was ideal, close to Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf. The rooms were suites. It exceeded our expectations! The staff was very friendly & helpful.”

• Fireplace, separate shower and tub, garden area.
• Noisy - could hear kids in room above, double size beds.

“Great hotel within walking distance of lots of things to do in Monterey. Not a high-rise "box" but rather suites spread out with garden areas. Relaxing and romantic fireplace, sitting area, and also garden area beside the patio.”

• Great location; close to downtown and fisherman's wharf.
• Room service food was appallingly bad.

“A very nice facility, within walking distance of downtown and fisherman's wharf. Spacious rooms that do not feel like your typical chain hotel. Lovely amenities like bathroom toiletries and down comforters. Free breakfast is quite substantial, with lots of offerings. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. On the downside: beds seem unusually short; mini-bar had rather limited choices; rooms can be noisy from street traffic. Food ordered from room service was atrocious; expensive, over an hour wait, cold, and barely edible.”

• Our suite was so warm and cozy.
• There was no pool.

“We had such a lovely stay. Hotel Pacific was wonderful. The staff was friendly and our room was very clean. The bed, the fireplace, and the atmosphere was incredible. The breakfast in the morning was very good. We felt very much at home and very comfortable.”

• Nice rooms.
• They charged Aquarium and parking fees 7 times to my card that's 300 dollars

• The grounds were very nice, the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.
• The in room CD player was crappy. Even one of the two supplied CD's would not play in it.

“The room was very nice and roomy, but I would not stay there again unless I was guaranteed a room that did not border Pacific Ave. Our first room did, and I could hear every car, motorcycle and bus that passed as if the wall was made of paper. The staff was very helpful and immediately changed my room to one that bordered the residential area adjacent to the hotel. After that, our stay was beautiful.”

“Superb room with fireplace, stereo, featherbeds, balcony. Grounds are well maintained with impressive fountains and gardens. Short walk to downtown, fisherman's wharf. Boutique hotel of highest caliber.”

• Spacious suites, well configured.
• Closet space is minimal, definitely a drawback.

“Quality hotel which has the feel of a small hotel. Rooms are all suites and nicely configured. Lack of closet space is only problem.”

• The plumbing was out for 5 hours.

“Great hotel service was great. It was such a great location too. The only problem was the water service was turned off for 5 hours not that will ever happen again but a little annoying. Overall though it was great.”

• This hotel was very luxurious. The amenities went above and beyond what I had expected.
