• I'd like that it had a pool and in the pool hours we were looking to go for swimming.
• The coffee maker in the room was not working.

• It was clean, the staff was helpful and the room was comfortable.
• Would be nice if it had a microwave and refrigerator.

• The hotel was fine and the room was clean did not have a fridge so that was the downside. Overall I enjoyed my short stay.
• No comment everything was fine.

“I will recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to stay in Newark. The place is easy access to the freeway except when your leaving due to the one way out and you have to make a u turn to get out or go back to the freeway due to the center divider. All in all it was fine.”

• The hot tub was clean and big - our room was quiet.
• No microwave or fridge in room.

“This hotel is excellent as far as location, room decor, cleanliness, quietness and staff. I have been here with kids and for business - several stays and no problems.”

• Comfortable bed, beautiful grounds, friendly staff.
• The pool should not close. It should be 24 hours.

“This is a wonderful hotel. Most of the staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and well decorated. I enjoyed this hotel very much.”

• I liked my expectations based on the past.
• The staff was not the same as usual this weekend.

“Last week I wrote my first review of this hotel and I counted up how long I've been staying there, it's been it's been 8 months, almost every weekend. I have a reasonable expectation of being recognized when I'm a guest. And up until this weekend that's what I have received. This weekend A different desk person was there. When I checked in he asked me to sign his stupid paper saying I won't have any parties with loud music. I know it's his job but as I said before regular customer. Then that night my girlfriend was denied access to a room key despite the fact that I had her registered to receive a key. When I asked what happened I got a BS story about the conversation. Basically I was being told a different story about the conversation between the desk and my girlfriend. Why would we lie? And whatever happened to the customer being right? By the way don't try to ask this guy for a late checkout. I was told that the hotel was at capacity and he couldn't do it. I wasn't asked how much time I needed which was only an extra half hour. Then the icing on the cake was when I checked out I realized I left my phone charger behind but was already on the freeway. Did he ask for my number to let me know? Nope! So I come back the next day and guess who? He tells me that they didn't find it. Now I'll be the first to tell you the service here is usually first class. Mainly because he's not usually there at least when I'm there. But this trip he was there every day. The girls that are there are great. But this guy is in the wrong business.”

• Desk person seemed like he was having a bad day.

“Overall a very nice place to stay at. Room was clean and bed was extremely comfortable. I even had a hard time trying to wake up. The only down side was the person running the front desk, he seemed like he was having a bad day which is understandable, but overall everything was great.”

• The whole hotel was very nice and I will come back again.
• I liked everything about the hotel.

“Well I live in Newark, but a friend flew into town and we stayed at the hotel. The hotel was very nice and I like the fact that it had a gym, pool, 24hour store etc. plus it is located in a good area with lots of stores and restaurants close by. Plus freeway is right there.”

“I did stay in this location more than two times but this time they charged me 250.00 dollars was smoking violation. Which I did not commit, they could not find any evidence. They give me a very hard time. I will never stay in this hotel again.”

• It was very comfortable.
• It aggravates me off when upscale hotels charge for local phone calls.

“The hotel was very comfortable and located convenient to shopping. It was also located a few miles from a Bart station so that I could whip into San Francisco without the hassle of taking my car. Why an upscale hotel would try and squeeze 75 cents out of you for a local call is beyond my comprehension.”

“This is a Quality Courtyard Hotel. Having stayed here several times, nothing has changed! With great features like a home style pillow-top mattress that is not too hard or soft, complimentary coffee in the lobby, hairdryer and alarm clock in room, and so much more, you can't go wrong! Staff is friendly and helpful!”

“The Courtyard by Marriott in Newark, CA was terrific. The staff was very friendly and seem ready to assist you. The room was beautiful. I hardly think that this hotel should be classified as a 2 star definitely 3 and maybe even 4. The bed was SO comfortable and HUGE. It felt like a memory foam mattress. The room was also fairly large with a moderate size desk, couch, and coffee table. We also got one day of free internet access. I love Courtyard by Marriott and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.”

• Check in staff was very fast and efficient.
• Location wasn't the best little out of the way far from my location; selection area should be split into two.
