“listed as ocean views, a dirty delta is not an ocean view! disgusting motel! stained carpets, over all very unpleasant, more of a live in motel.”

“The room was quiet and the hotel was close to shopping. The full kitchen in my room would have been great if there were pots and pans, and utensils with. I had plenty of room to move around as the room was like a small 1 bedroom apartment. Great TV selections.”

“Rooms in poor condition, carpeting in very rough condition. Rooms selected for us were next door to a very noisy bowling alley. Would not stay again at any price!”

“This hotel is a dump. Rooms totally outdated. The bed was awful. Thank God we only had to stay there one night.”

“I asked, after reading other site reviews, just to be sure about the kitchenette in the room. As my son in law, who was dropping me off, mentioned she seemed a little surprised by the fact you actually planned on using the kitchen to cook! She assured me that there would be a kitchen, but if I needed any pots and pans to actually cook with, I could find them outside by the side of the pool in the communal cook wear area, as we now called it. Having just stayed 2 weeks earlier at a Residence Inn in NY, this was not quite what I would expect from all rooms have kitchenettes. They neglect to say they really don't expect you to cook. As I headed up to the 2nd floor it then hit me, with my 50lb suitcase, there is no elevator! Next I got into my room, which was extremely large, I will say, to see said kitchenette. The refrigerator was a small 3' x 2' (give or take) with a block of ice where the freezer (which was about the size of a TV dinner) would be and didn't actually close all the way. Next I checked out the bathroom, which was nice and clean, I am pleased to say, but for some reason they felt no reason to put in an extra roll of toilet paper (with no paper towels in that kitchen either, I don't know why I was surprised). The only real problem with the bathroom was the pull lever on the shower knob to switch the water from shower or bath. Once it went in it didn't come back out, no grasp on the end-fortunately I was content with showers. The do have basic cable, which still makes me wonder why the TV was fuzzy no matter what station you turned to and only about half the electric sockets actually worked as I went to recharge my various gadgets, etc. Also, I was there 4 nights and of those, 2 times I had to have the front desk reactivate my keycard, even though I did not keep it anywhere it may be demagnetized. I cannot comment on the pool area since it was rather cold out and I had no time to really look around. Overall, I actually would still stay there, in a pinch, but go in knowing I was only microwaving food, bringing my own paper plates and utensils, paper products, etc-but only because it was not very expensive. For a relaxing, luxury, stay, not so much.”

“Got there 2 hrs after check in time. The room was still getting cleaned. There weren't any other rooms available so we had to wait. The staff was unfriendly and almost insulting. I would never go there again and would not recommend it to any one.”

“We stayed for two nights at the Coral Reef and we'd say we're quite satisfied with our stay there. The room is clean and spacious. The price was reasonable. Even though there is a town center across the street but the traffic is not too busy/noisy. Instead I found most of the noise are from the apartment complex next to it. Our room was right above the porch in front entrance. The beach (SF Bay) is just a few steps away and there are plenty of restaurants in the area to dine in. The breakfast was okay but I wished there were more tables in the breakfast area. Overall, I'm happy with my stay and I would stay there again on my next visit.”

“The Coral Reef has a very convenient location in Alameda, with ready access to the Bay Area. It has large apartment size rooms en suite and provides a reasonable continental breakfast. It provides excellent value.”
