  • Easy to get to, decent breakfast.
  • Hotel converted from apartment town homes. Awkward layout, staff gave us keys to occupied room.

“Hotel is located close enough to SeaTac Airport and would be useful as a business trip stopover. The staff were friendly enough, but not at the top of their competence. First room assigned shared a porch and nearly a front door with a partying softball team and the keys did not work. The keys were to a different room that was already occupied. The staff were kind enough to provide us with another room which had an awkward layout with a conference room downstairs and a bedroom upstairs. Not a good location for eating out as there were no restaurants in walking distance. Fairly close to bus routes.”

  • Free full breakfast, sausage, eggs, waffles.
  • Were there during softball tournament, so people were loud.

“I would stay here again! They offered a free full breakfast, meats and all. They also offered a managers reception at 5 pm - 6:30 pm that was like a dinner, you had an option of 2 main courses like lasagna or stuffed peppers and sides. The staff was helpful, the rooms were new, small kitchenette, monster bathroom, had lots of space- even a fireplace! The beds were double, and my husband (over 6 feet) was a little tall for it, but he slept well considering his toes stuck out from the sheets, and he said he was comfortable!”

“This place was awesome. The room had 3 TVs and very quiet great service gave us a crib at no charge for our 5 month old and the rooms were just had everything that you have at home and more! The pool was nice although the hot tubs/spa were not in operation we had a Jacuzzi tub in our room and a fireplace just great.”

  • The rooms were cozy and comfortable.
  • Nothing.

“This hotel was great. The room was cute and had all the amenities. You could choose to cook in your room or go out. The hotel gave you a small appetizer from 5-6:30 pm and breakfast the next morning. The food was not exciting, but it hit the spot and was included. Overall would love to go back again.”

  • Nice serviceable room.
  • Disrepair, location.

“The wait staff was rude when told about a party in the room next door. The front door lock did not work and it was reported, never fixed. The bathroom door did not open or close( pocket), it was off hinge, reported not fixed, room not cleaned 2 days of 4, incorrect map to locate the room so we walked all over carting our luggage.”

  • Nice amenities. Excellent for the price we paid.
  • My only complaint was the hard bed. Everything else was fantastic!

“Great for the leisure or business traveler. The hard bed made it a little difficult to sleep on but everything else was great.”

  • It was visually appealing, looked more like apartments than a hotel. They served a full scale breakfast for free.
  • Nothing.

“I thought if to be quite a nice setting and the complimentary daily breakfast and week night dinners were really great. We didn't have to worry about leaving the hotel to go find a restaurant.”

  • With all suites, it was more like home than a typical hotel.
  • There could have been more parking close to my room.

“The Hawthorne Suites was a very affordable solution with all the comforts of home. The room was clean and spacious, with a fireplace, full kitchen, and patio. A complimentary buffet breakfast saved the bother of finding a restaurant in an unfamiliar city and had a good selection of entrees. The staff seemed a little bored with their jobs, but they were not unfriendly or inefficient. This would be a lovely place for an extended stay.”

  • Friendly staff.
  • Dirty, smelly, almost so bad you didn't want to touch anything and I could not bathe in the shower it was so bad.

“Disgusting. I would rate it a 1 star. It was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at.”

  • Very large room and overall was clean.
  • Bed was uncomfortable, room smelled of cigarettes, public spaces too small for property--too crowded.

“Overall I was pleased with our stay at Hawthorne Suites mostly because of the affordable price. If I had paid full price, I would have been disappointed. The property is located in a quite, somewhat remote location, so it does require one's own transportation. However, if one has their own car, a large variety of dining, shopping, and activity choices are just a short drive away. The hotel property itself has pretty good curb appeal and first impression qualities. The lobby has been kept updated and clean. The room we stayed in was clean, but had a musty/cigarette smoke smell upon entering the room. The best things about the room were: - It was a small suite, so it was extremely spacious and provided lots of room. - The bathroom was large- It had a refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishwasher, coffee maker--all which we did not use, but was nice to have if we had needed the - close-by parking. The things that needed improvement are:- The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like it was the cheapest, low-end, motel-grade mattress available. This was our biggest complaint.- We were there over a weekend and on Friday night, the property was very full--which meant lots of people. The pool was filled to capacity and the crowd was very loud. Fortunately, the pool eventually closed.- We went for the free breakfast buffet on Saturday morning, but due to the quantity of people, it was extremely crowded, no place to sit, long lines for food and overall not a positive experience. We didn't do the breakfast any of the other days we were there. For the other days, we chose other breakfast places including the Starbucks right across the street. If the place wasn't crowded, the breakfast buffet would be okay. They offer hot foods (scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage, and waffles) as well as toast, English muffins, cereal, fruit, juice. Can't complain too much because it is free--but the typical free hotel breakfast stuff.”

  • Large room.
  • Staff was clueless.

“They sent a taxi for me at the airport, because the shuttle was out, it never came, so I got my own. While trying to call them for 20 minutes. They had their phone off the hook. They said they would pay for the taxi, but never did. I was not happy with the staff at all. The hotel was what I expected for 1-star though.”

  • The room was large and comfortable, more like an apartment.
  • Nothing I can think of.

“This was a great hotel for families, lots of space in the room beyond just a bed. The common areas, the pool and lobby, were well equipped and convenient. I would stay here again!”

  • Big spacious, comfortable, homey suites.
  • Lot of kids running around unsupervised at night.

“Superb spot between Kent and Tukwila. Near the Green River. Close to airport yet away from it all in certain senses. Very quiet in the rear. Superb suites with spaciousness, fireplace and big couch, full kitchen and comfortable bed and large bathroom. Front patio to each suite too. I really felt at home and was comfortable there.”
