  • Had to order the coffee maker and pay extra for microwave and fridge.

“We liked the room and the service. When we stayed there before we did not have to pay for parking and also had a free breakfast.”

  • The decor, friendly staff, affordable and an easy parking.
  • No coffee pot in room.

  • The new decor, the view from our room, the friendly and helpful staff - Superb!

“Beautifully decorated, cozy and quaint, completely redecorated in good taste. Clean throughout and the staff was very friendly -- always had a smile on their face. Helpful and professional! Loved it and will go back and stay at the hotel Deca in the near future.”

  • Cool decor.
  • Bathrooms had old fixtures, heat/cool system not efficient.

“Older, well appointed hotel that has been renovated in an funky Art Deco style. Nice and comfortable beds. Rooms, however, were on the smaller side. Great walk in closet but no lighting?!”

  • Wonderful comfortable beds
  • Breakfast, very slow service, poorly presented.

“I would consider this Hotel as one of my favorite in terms of comfort and hospitality. But would like to see better supervision in the Dining Room.”

  • Very close to downtown, hip boutique hotel in heart of University District Very close to downtown, hip boutique hotel in heart of University District.
  • Was given a handicap room, sub-par decor compared to other rooms I've stayed in, was COLD during the night.

“I've stayed here numerous times, this is the worst experience I've had, I will not stay in a handicap room again.”

  • The elevator worked.
  • Was told first that I was in a small studio and I could upgrade for a fee.

“. Room didn't smell all that well. The bed was not that comfortable and ice machines are on every other floor.”

  • Hotel Deca is not joking about the art deco. It is really hip. The most comfortable bed and lazy sofa I have ever laid in.
  • Bathroom is a little outdated. Only two elevators.

“Great hotel. We loved it. Best beds ever. You will have to pay for parking, which is about $10 a day.”

  • Had a nice view.
  • Had to pay an upgrade fee to get a nice room.

“They did not have free parking they charge $8.00 for their parking lot. Also they seem quick to add on any extra with extra fee charges.”

  • Very friendly staff and interesting decor.
  • Not warned about having to pay for parking.

“Small but cozy, comfortable rooms with interesting, artistic decor. Nice views of Seattle from higher floors with lots of windows. Internet access provided free of charge. Very friendly staff that were extremely helpful.”

“No internet for 4 days & 3 nights that I've stayed. On our first night, he said that someone will fix it next day but it never happened & our 3rd night the manager said that the internet is completely blow out. Our card key has day that it did not work.”

  • Safe, comfortable, quiet, friendly, good price, good location.
  • Nothing.

“Hotel deca is near the Washington Univesity, so you can find many restaurant easily. And it is near the zoo and 5 miles to downtown. If you drive or rent a car in Seattle, it is a nice place to stay. I upgrade to two queenbed room with $15 a day. So it makes me feel spacious of the room. The bed is confortable and the room is quiet. I will recommend to bid the 3.5 star hotel if you go to Seattle for visit.”

  • Great decor, great southwest views.
  • Thin walls, smelly bathroom, and
    very noisy near elevator.

“We stayed on the 5th floor in room. We were at the mercy of the sounds from the elevator, and because the walls are thin those sounds dominated our time there. In addition to that the smell of urine (from a previous guest) seemed to grow more pungent over the course of our overnight. This is a glorified party hotel and the young staff treats it as such. On a positive note the rooms do look nice, and if you get a room facing southwest you'll enjoy a great view of the city and Mt. Rainier.”

  • Art and vibrant colors.

“Wonderful staff, including shuttle drivers, who went out of the way to help. Rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious, with an amazing view from the 14th floor.”

  • It was close to University of Washington and close to interesting shops, etc.
  • I did not like the way the receptionist treated us.

“Receptionist said that the only room left was a room with a double bed and placed us in that room though I insisted we wanted either king or twin size bed. We asked for a rollaway bed and then the response was the room was too small for a rollaway bed. And indeed it was a small corner room that I think is usually only used for single travelers. The bathroom was very small and a large person would have had difficulty closing the door of the bath. To close the door there was not much room between the sink and the swing of the door.”

  • Designer decor was very tasteful and contemporary.
  • Restaurant in basement with no natural light.

“Friendly staff. Large and well-appointed room with a very comfortable king-sized bed. Great value for the money. I would happily stay there again.”

  • It was uniquely decorated.

“It was a great find. Comfortable and modern. Service at the front desk was exceptional.”

  • Location was good.

“This is not a child friendly hotel since the bathroom was small and the bathroom lacked counter space. Art deco in my opinion means old and vintage. The style did not appeal to me. The HVAC system was loud when it was on. I didn't feel the parking lot was the safest. I would do my best to avoid this hotel in the future.”

  • The best place to stay if you have to visit Washington.
  • It's far from everything else in downtown Seattle.

“Excellent location for business trip to Washington. Great quality for the price.”

  • The decor was very fresh and contemporary feeling.
  • A lot of kid noise from the room next door.

“One of the few hotels in the University District, good location and ample parking. Refurbished rooms are very well done.”
