• No in room refrigerator.

“Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Hotel was comfortable and convenient. Close to good restaurants. We had a perfect stay!”

• Expensive wireless internet and expensive parking.

• Good location and close to transportation.
• They checked us into a room that already had guests in it. And we were already paying a lot of money for the room but we had to pay for parking.

“Hotel was nice. It cost $46 a night to park your car there. I thought that it was a lot of money considering we paid $200 a night to stay there. They checked us into a room that already has people in it. We ate breakfast there and it was not good at all. the fruit was old, toast was burnt and the eggs were runny! Terrible! Other than that their rooms were nice. Oh and they would only give us three towels at a time.”

• Floor to ceiling windows with a great view of the city from Bay Bridge to Golden Gate.
• Took over an hour (at 8:30 pm) for crib to be brought to room - requested it 3 times.

“Room was small, but had great floor to ceiling window wall with view of city from Bay Bridge to Golden Gate. Room service was fairly slow, and the burger was not to my liking (it had some sort of unidentified peppery spice in it which was not mentioned on the menu). Also, it took over an hour for the crib we requested to be delivered. This was at 8:30 pm, and we had a child who had up for over 17 hours needed to use it upon arrival. However, we had to wait and request it 3 times before it was brought up. Hallways were noisy and woke us up throughout the night, but that was partly thinly insulated walls, and partly due to rude guests. Room was clean, but nothing spectacular. Beware the mini-bar. (This is clearly stated on mini-bar door). It should be rated 3 stars.”

• Very close to Subway (BART), city center and attractions.
• Local traffic congestion, even on weekends. Impersonal appearance.

“The hotel was very comfortable and clean and in good condition. The overall attitude of the hotel is one suited for a modern business traveler. The staff are friendly, albeit impersonal. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable with views of the financial center of the city. The hotel will meet the reasonable expectations of most business travelers but is probably not appropriately suited for families.”

• Very attractive and comfortable.
• Charged for items in the fridge that we didn't consume.

“We enjoyed our stay at the Westin because it was a very nice hotel for a fraction of the actual rate! The parking did get us though, valet $52 for 24 hours only. In the room it was very luxurious, stocked with a bar and food. They did charge us for items that we didn't consume, so that was upsetting, however they fixed the mistake immediately. I would definitely want to stay in this hotel again.”

• The internet system was expensive and we chose not to use it.

“We appreciated being upgraded to the 36th floor. It was an elegant stay in the heart of town with great views and warm and helpful staff.”

• Great view from high level room; walk to nearby food/museums.
• Parking forty two bucks.

“Walk to upscale shops nearby. Great housekeeping, great room, comfy beds, great shower, robe, bathroom. No Pool (bummer!) Great stay. Recommended.”

• Beautifully decorated. Excellent showerhead, windows/views, beds/bedding, staff, TV.
• Only minor complaint was not enough room for luggage rack in doorway between bedroom and bathroom.

“It was extremely convenient to the financial district and Union Square, shopping, restaurants; within walking distance. Simple but elegant style. Flowers were superb. Restaurant staff and hotel staff friendly and helpful. The floor to ceiling windows and view were spectacular. The bedding and numerous pillows were wonderful. Absolutely no noise; elevator, people, bathroom, shower, television was heard within the room. There was complete privacy. Checkout time was noon but when we alerted staff that an appointment might make us not check out until 1:00, they were not only understanding but allowed us to do so.”

• Parking was way to expensive.

“This hotel was very nice, it is located Downtown, right in the city, so expect tall buildings and many people on the streets below. There were a few homeless people in the neighborhood, but the inside was great. Nice room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. It is also located close to many places you might want to go in San Francisco. The one thing I had a problem with, was the price of parking. I don't know if this is standard for the city, but we had to pay $46 a night plus tax to park. Other than that the experience was great.”

• Public areas were nice and rooms were updated but they took shortcuts on a few things.
• Bathrooms are very small and shortcuts taken when remodeled. Stains on tubs and discoloration. Old phones from Argent Hotel. Odd furniture mounted.

“The front desk staff was very pleasant. The concierge service was OK and if you called, and they were helping customers, then you would have to leave a voice message. Should they not hire a concierge for the phone only? It looked like they installed a wall mount for the plasma TV that ended up not fitting the TV. Instead it was left on the wall with the TV on top of the cabinet. Very small bathroom and the tub had rust in between the tile and tub. I presume its from the remodel between the old tiles and new ones they put it. The location is great but there are a few homeless on the streets that make it feel less safe.”

• It was fun to be right in the city, but still feel clean and safe.
• We were disappointed that it cost an extra $50 for parking. We thought it was included in the room.

“We think the most important qualities in a hotel are cleanliness, a friendly and helpful staff, and a comfortable bed. The Westin fulfilled all these requirements. BART and buses were close for easy travel. The only thing that puzzled us was that there was only one, not two comfortable chair, and a computer chair. We would have liked two nice chairs to look out at the city while sipping our wine.”

• Could hear sirens at night every 20 min.

• The location was great, decor of hotel was beautiful, beds were extremely comfortable, TV was huge!
• Parking was 52.00 a night, internet costs 7.00 for the first 15 min then 1.00 a minute after that, no pool/hot tub or sauna.

“We enjoyed our stay at the Westin and it was a great location. There are a few nice places to eat near the hotel but not a lot. We were shocked that valet parking was 52.00 a night, if you don't use their parking there really is no where else to park Downtown. There is free internet in the rooms but we didn't bring our laptop so the computer room, is 7.00 for the 1st 15 min and 1.00 a minute after that. Insane! The lobby was kind of boring, not much to do or even places to sit. The workout room was really hot and crowded. There was no pool/hot tub or sauna. Also the view from our room was GREAT but the windows were so dirty we could barely see out of them.”
