“It was horrible. Loading and unloading was a hassle. There was no staff to assist, nothing available to transport baggage. No air conditioning, and very noisy with the windows open. The parking (or lack of) should have been mentioned in the ad for the hotel. Would absolutely not go back.”

“I wanted to crash in for one night. When I got there for there, I was tired so I fell asleep quite quickly. For that purpose it was ok. But you probably don't want to hang out in the room any longer than necessary.”

“If you want to be in the heart of China Town-location is great. Rooms were decent and clean-nothing fancy, but I was there to hang out in the City, not my room, so it served it's purpose. The front desk manager will tell you great places to go to really get the China Town experience, he was very helpful and friendly.”

“Room was small, but comfortable and clean. The staff was amazingly nice. They gave us a room with a view of the street because we had to wait about five minutes to check-in. Hotel was remodeling during stay, so there was no carpet in the hallway leading to the room: only towels and old sheets. It was replaced on the last day of trip. Also, the bathroom door had recently been replaced and painted so that it did not shut at all. On the first night there was a terrible odor coming from the closet. The next day we bought some Febreeze at a local store, and semi-frequent applications kept the smell at bay. There is no parking at the hotel, but their designated parking garage is only a couple of blocks away. Recommend ditching the car: it's easier to walk in the downtown area anyway. Thought the parking garage does require that you leave your keys, it helps to know that they do lock the cars when they are parked (we had to retrieve a pair of glasses after we dropped it off). Don't really have a basis of reference to know if it was a safe neighborhood or not, but we never felt worried or uneasy. Overall for the price it was a nice place to stay. I would consider staying again and would recommend it to friends who are planning to visit the city.”

“I have never ever stayed in such a small hole of a room. It was disgusting and when I went to the manager, he was equally disgusting.”

“The hotel is great for family vacations. The fact that it did not have parking was not problematic because we took a train and had no car anyway, public transportation is awesome in the area anyway. The staff was extremely helpful and very eager to please us in any way they could to the point of giving us excellent directions to where we wanted to be. I will be staying there again.”

“The hotrl has an excellent location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel room was very small and smelly. It needs a renew. It looks dirty because it is very old.”

“This diamond in the rough is superbly located a few blocks above Pravda, Brooks Bros, etc, and close to the #30 bus to Fisherman's' Wharf, Museums, etc. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, let us leave our things several hours before actual check in time. They gave us a large room on the sixth floor, in stained glass heaven, after I had asked about the beautiful windows. Park diagonally across the street is perfect for `picnics.'.”

“We enjoyed our stay over night as the proximity to the shopping percent of Chinatown was excellent. We had access to email which is important to us as travelers.”

“The hotel was probably built in the late 1950's or early 1960's and has maintained the flavor of that era. The bathroom was quite spacious. The bedroom, closet space, drawer space, desk and so on were perfectly sized and the entire sense was of a cozy place to stay. I would certainly stay there, again.”
