“An old vintage charm with a polite, friendly staff. The rooms are small, but this is what you would come to expect in an older, restored hotel. It was quiet and provided a very comfortable bed with a fully stocked honor bar.”

“Great stay. Excellent price for San Francisco. Excellent location with Visitors Bureau and cable car stop within one block. Within walking distance to Chinatown, Union Square and all of the best stores. My kids had fun shopping at all of the great stores. Small elegant older hotel. Room and bathroom were small, but very clean. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. great service, called front desk to report broken blow dryer and was replaced within 10 minutes. Would stay there again and recommend it to anyone.”

“The hotel was nice, but they charged for absolutely everything. I was sure I booked a double room, but they gave me a single queen bed and told me I could upgrade to a double for an additional $35 per night which I did not think was right. I felt like their goal was strictly to make money, not give you a home away from home feel.”

“The hotel is very centrally located and just around the corner from the Powell Bart station. This makes it convenient to get to and from SFO (San Francisco International Airport). The hotel was clean, which is of prime importance to me.”

“The first night we stayed in a very small room with real tiny shower. OK for overnight, but not for several days. The next day we were moved to a really nice room with a king size bed. The hotel is very old but, clean and well kept. Great location and great people working there.”

“The hotel was lovely, clean, and elegant. The staff went out of their way to help us with parking as we had a handicapped guest with us. The afternoon wine hour (FREE) was a nice unexpected touch.”

“My stay at the Monticello Inn in San Francisco was absolutely fabulous. I'd go there again. It is conveniently located within walking distance to Union Square, bus lines, restaurants and shopping areas. The employees were very professional and helpful as well. Thanks for your assistance, too.”
