• The location and the views.

“Paid for the upgrade to a higher floor for a view. It was worth it. We slept with the drapes open to see the city at night. The hotel is located just 2 short blocks from Union Square and market street. Tons of shopping and restaurants to chose from. We were very happy with the hotel, the location, and the hotel room cost. We will return.”

• I did not like that I was checked in to a hotel on the 26th floor, and when I opened the door to the room another guest was in the room.

“I did not like that I was checked in to a hotel on the 26th floor and when I opened the door to the room another guest was in the room. I went down with all my bags back to the registration desk, and the staff said it showed in their system as clean and ready for check in. They gave me a new room on the 28th floor, so I hauled my bags back to the 28th floor and the room's dead bolt did not work and given my earlier mishap I wanted to make sure my door was locked. I went back to the registration and they issued me a 3rd room.”

  nice staff.
• It's old, they renovated it but the bathroom was left.

“It's a nice hotel for the location, nice try of renovation but still on the budget conscious mind, always line-up at the front desk, but the staff really friendly, parking is $48 and $55-60 for truck/SUV, bathroom needs to be renovated, overall it's nice but only in the class of 3.5 star large hotel.”

• The location, price, and decor.
• WiFi is not free, they charge about $12.99 for access.

“The location, decor and price of this hotel are great. Three drawbacks for me were: WiFi in rooms is not free. The business center provides computers with free internet access, but had a line of people waiting to use them each time I went there. There was often a line of guests at the counter, seems like they need more staff members on hand to deal with customers.”

• Great location.

“As soon as the elevator doors opened on the smoking floor, it was like being hit with a wall of stale cigarette smoke - another person in the elevator said disgusting as we got off. You could literately see the smoke. Made my luggage stink for the rest of my trip and I didn't want to go back into the room because I didn't want to deal with the stench. The neighbors had a party in the room next door until 4 am and the staff did nothing to quiet them and the walls seemed to be made of rice paper as I could hear everything. The room was nice in terms of furniture and decor, but was so unpleasant that it didn't matter. Windows didn't open and the fan/AC/heater didn't clean the air. couldn't wait to check out after less than 24 hours.”

• Great location to Union Square for Christmas shopping.
• Only room available had double beds, preferred a king.

“Excellent value - great location if you want to be on Union Square (we did). The hotel was extremely busy but we were able to get the services we needed - valet parking and a table in the lounge. They had a nice wine by the glass selection in the bar.”

• Food in restaurant was good.
• Hotel is located in bad area of downtown - lots of street noise, sirens, screaming, arrests outside - hard to sleep, even on 17th floor.

“There is a reason that these rooms are cheap. The hotel's location is very convenient, but that is also its drawback - the street noise and chaos every night pretty much overwhelmed the whole experience. I wouldn't want to stay here again.”
