  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“ Overall old, dirty, small and smelly. ”

  • Location
  • TV - needs an HDMI cable.

“I didn't like the bait and switch tactic. The room was basically a closet, and we had to pay more to get a normal room.”

  • The overall hotel was very nice.
  • The hotel clerk advised wrong info regarding parking at Fisherman's wharf we found parking not to be a problem. Slight attitude.

“Great rooms, comfortable beds. Very nice. Lobby was very attractive.”

  • The size of the room was silly.

“Staff was 1/2 nice and half snobbish.”

  • The bed was comfortable.
  • I expected more in our room for a 4 star.

“The room we got was so plain, the hotel lacked personality.”

  • Staff & bedding quality.

“Very courteous and helpful staff, bedding was top rate, room was spacious, especially for San Francisco.”

  • Bathroom was spacious and comfortable.
  • Lots of paint chips and dings all over the room.

“Since I was traveling with my friend, we wanted two beds. We were required to pay an additional $30 per night for the upgrade. I enjoyed the room. It was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom had a separate shower and tub which I enjoyed. However there were lots of small damages to the room. Things that made the room look a little shabby. The carpet was unattractive. The base molding was chipped and cracked in many places. The furniture had scratches on it. The entertainment center had these fabric panels that were frayed and torn. The lounge chair looked as if it was 20 years old. These little flaws detracted a lot from the overall luxury and comfort of the room.”

  • The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever slept on! Better than ours at home!
  • The lobby and room decor was pretty sterile, but we didn't care.

“The Hotel Nikko was very comfortable (great bed!) and clean. We were very close to the Powell Street Station, which gave us access to BART, MUNI and the cable cars. The concierge was very helpful in helping us plan our days.”

  • Great location!
  • Small rooms.

“I had a good time, but I won't be bidding on 4 or 3 1/2 stars hotels on West Union Square to avoid this hotel. The room was too small and I had to pay $20 for an upgrade to a room with a decent size. Beware if you get this hotel you'll be needing to pay extra.”

  • The location was close to the cable cars and union square. Good shopping nearby.
  • I saw someone get mugged across the street. The rooms were very small. No dress either.

“ The hotel was very nice, but the facilities were very small. The room didn't have a dresser to unpack. Since we were there for more than one night, it was hard to get comfortable and organized without any dressers to put our stuff in. The bathroom was nice, bed was comfortable, and the room was clean, just too small. The staff was great and very friendly. ”

  • Clean, modern, fine appointments.
  • Bellman & valet did not help at arrival.

“We have stayed at several SF hotels using Priceline. We have always had excellent service and rooms. Hotel Nikko staffers were highly inattentive! Bellman made no attempt to help. No valet was in sight. 2 clerks at the desk moved in slow motion. The room service and housekeepers were superb! Hope we don't get Hotel Nikko on our next Priceline adventure!”

  • Great location, front desk allowed a $10 upgrade which was well worth it.

“You will love this hotel, located in the heart of San Francisco Union Square area the hotel is centrally located in the best part of old San Francisco.”

  • Perfect location in the center.
  • Parking fees, internet fees.

“ Located in the center of San Francisco. Direct surrounded by lots of shops and very near to the cable car. Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Not too big but big enough for us. Lovely big window with view. We enjoyed our stay. The only problem was the expensive parking. ”

  • The hotel lobby and common areas are very attractive and well maintained.
  • The room I had was fairly small in size.

“The hotel is very nice, clean and very affordable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a Starbucks adjacent to the hotel and it makes for a very short jaunt for a good cup of Joe.”

  • The waterfall landscape in the lobby.
  • The so-called clean coffee cups and glasses were filthy - as if someone simply rinsed them out and put them back without really cleaning them.

“I wasn't impressed with the Hotel Nikko. When we arrived, the hotel register treated us pretty indifferently. Once we go to our room, we were disappointed in that it was hardly decorated - nor did it have a small table and 2 chairs for having coffee, wine, etc. Instead, we could only use the office chair and the bed to sit and chat. Also - as stated above - the dishes were very, very dirty - I do not believe they went through a washer from the previous tenant. That's a health hazard.”

  • The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The gym was very nice.
  • The pool wasn't the best but just OK.

“I was very pleased with the hotel, the gym was better than I had expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very neat and clean. I have no complaints.”

  • Location and lobby was great, first impressions were good.
  • The room was not even 1 star quality.

“The room had no lights. I expected a nice large room, and got a prison cell.”

“We were supposed to be staying at the Nikko but were changed to the Hilton on O'Farrell. We were disappointed as we were looking forward to the Nikko. The Hilton was OK, but not the best Hilton we've stayed at.”
