  • The bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever slept on! Better than ours at home!
  • The lobby and room decor was pretty sterile, but we didn't care.

“The Hotel Nikko was very comfortable (great bed!) and clean. We were very close to the Powell Street Station, which gave us access to BART, MUNI and the cable cars. The concierge was very helpful in helping us plan our days.”

  • Great location!
  • Small rooms.

“I had a good time, but I won't be bidding on 4 or 3 1/2 stars hotels on West Union Square to avoid this hotel. The room was too small and I had to pay $20 for an upgrade to a room with a decent size. Beware if you get this hotel you'll be needing to pay extra.”

  • The location was close to the cable cars and union square. Good shopping nearby.
  • I saw someone get mugged across the street. The rooms were very small. No dress either.

“ The hotel was very nice, but the facilities were very small. The room didn't have a dresser to unpack. Since we were there for more than one night, it was hard to get comfortable and organized without any dressers to put our stuff in. The bathroom was nice, bed was comfortable, and the room was clean, just too small. The staff was great and very friendly. ”

  • Clean, modern, fine appointments.
  • Bellman & valet did not help at arrival.

“We have stayed at several SF hotels using Priceline. We have always had excellent service and rooms. Hotel Nikko staffers were highly inattentive! Bellman made no attempt to help. No valet was in sight. 2 clerks at the desk moved in slow motion. The room service and housekeepers were superb! Hope we don't get Hotel Nikko on our next Priceline adventure!”

  • Great location, front desk allowed a $10 upgrade which was well worth it.

“You will love this hotel, located in the heart of San Francisco Union Square area the hotel is centrally located in the best part of old San Francisco.”

  • Perfect location in the center.
  • Parking fees, internet fees.

“ Located in the center of San Francisco. Direct surrounded by lots of shops and very near to the cable car. Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Not too big but big enough for us. Lovely big window with view. We enjoyed our stay. The only problem was the expensive parking. ”

  • The hotel lobby and common areas are very attractive and well maintained.
  • The room I had was fairly small in size.

“The hotel is very nice, clean and very affordable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a Starbucks adjacent to the hotel and it makes for a very short jaunt for a good cup of Joe.”

  • The waterfall landscape in the lobby.
  • The so-called clean coffee cups and glasses were filthy - as if someone simply rinsed them out and put them back without really cleaning them.

“I wasn't impressed with the Hotel Nikko. When we arrived, the hotel register treated us pretty indifferently. Once we go to our room, we were disappointed in that it was hardly decorated - nor did it have a small table and 2 chairs for having coffee, wine, etc. Instead, we could only use the office chair and the bed to sit and chat. Also - as stated above - the dishes were very, very dirty - I do not believe they went through a washer from the previous tenant. That's a health hazard.”

  • Awesome beds!

“Perfect-we got a room on priceline and upgraded for a larger one since we have 2 kids. Hotel was very agreeable, great location, quiet and luxurious/”

  • The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The gym was very nice.
  • The pool wasn't the best but just OK.

“I was very pleased with the hotel, the gym was better than I had expected. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very neat and clean. I have no complaints.”

  • Great location-Very nice room and helpful staff.

“Very nice hotel. The location was convenient to every type of public transportation. About 1 block from the cable car, and two from all the busses and streetcars we used. The room was big and quiet and the bathroom was very large for a hotel. We had to pay an extra $20 a night to get a room with two beds instead of one king. Even then, it was a good deal for the hotel and location. We were very satisfied.”

  • Very quiet.
  • Parking $50.

“The Hotel Nikko has beautiful rooms and the rooms are very quiet. The parking is ridiculous. $52.00, though there is public parking across the street at $30.00.”

  • Very clean and very friendly staff.

“Great location. Parking is very expensive
at hotel. We parked across the strret for 1/2 the price. Beautiful/clean roon. Very quiet. Enjoyed the fitness/pool area.”

  • Friendly, good location, pleasant surroundings.
  • How to get into the lobby off the street for parking.

“Not much more to say it was very nice.”

  • Location, modern style, nice bathroom, nice bedding and comfortable beds.
  • Charge for internet, lobby was impersonal.

“Very nice hotel, very clean and modern with nice bathroom with separate shower and bath, great fitness center, pool and hot tub area could be nicer.”

  • New age decoration.
  • I arrived at midnight and there was no one to help me with my bags.

“A beautiful, clean hotel with a lovely rooftop pool but no lockers for guests, only for day spa users.”

  • Great location.
  • High parking fees and also high fees for WiFi, fitness and pool.

“The location of the hotel in San Francisco is excellent. The atmosphere inside is somewhat formal/business-like, not quite romantic. Starbucks in the lobby is great. Parking and WiFi very expensive, but a 24 hour public parking is across the street or park the car at a BART station for 5 dollars a day.”

  • Very helpful staff.
  • Nickel and dimmed at every turn.

“Got a great room, then proceeded to have to pay extra for 2 beds, internet access, pool/weight room access, and $50+ per night for parking (after taxes). Showers was very small and hard to move around in (I'm not a big guy either). Staff was very helpful with anything I needed. Overall a nice hotel that ended up being very expensive.”

  • The location, the bedding, the bathroom, the view.
  • The rug could have been a little cleaner. The lobby was clean, cold and sterle.

“Hotel Nikko is super clean! I never saw a hotel with stainless steel doors and elevators doors that just gleamed without fingerprints! The lobby is white granite with a small staircase waterfall. Very business like and while sofas and modern orange floor lights were there, it was more of a walk through. The decor of our room was blue and brown with white comforter bedding and a blue throw. Warm and snuggly. A wonderful bed to fall into after an exhausting day of climbing and deciding the streets of San Fran! The bathroom was updated with a black granite counter and mounted circular modern sink! Kohler outstanding!”
