• Location; free wine for 1 hour in lobby each evening.
• Room was extremely small.

“Our room was smaller than those found in most European hotel. We couldn't pass each other, one had to step aside. My suitcase didn't fit between the end of the bed and the desk - I had to lift it over the set it on the floor next to the bed.”

• The hotel was just everything that we could have wanted. View wonderful and very quiet.

“If we need to be in the city again for an overnight stay, we will certainly return to this hotel. We were very satisfied and happy.”

• Staff was outstanding from the moment we arrived. Location excellent. Clean and friendly.
• Nothing that I can think of at all.

“Our cab pulled up and Steve from the hotel took our bags and sent us down to the corner to see the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge. Apparently this nice of a sunset almost never happens due to the fog and he wanted us to see it. What a way to start our first visit to SF! We utilized the concierge endlessly for restaurants, rental cars, etc. We loved the wine hour.”

• Great location, quiet, clean, very responsive when called on to resolve problems.
• Business center charged to use internet, no real sitting area in room.

“Over all our experience at the hotel was good and both times we had issues with the hotel they were resolved quickly. Great location and friendly responsive staff.”

• Comfortable, clean and quiet. Fantastic location.
• The maritime themed decor was a little odd.

“Despite the odd maritime themed interior decor (odd in my personal opinion only), this was an excellent hotel and I would stay here again.”

• Large fresh nautical styled rooms.
• Door to room was installed inside-out. Push to open door, no manual security lock.

“Pleasant front desk. Clean, interesting rooms with a nautical flair. Family friendly, but also good for business travelers. Over-looking the Bay and Alcatraz and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Very good value.”

• Over-the-top nautical theme.

“Overall a great hotel, great amenities, super helpful staff, clean. One gripe (besides the oh-my-god anchors everywhere decor): no extra outlets in the room for plugging in chargers, laptops, etc. All the extra outlets were in the bathroom. Other than that minor inconvenience, it was excellent!”

• Beautiful fireplace, wine tasting was wonderful in lobby.

“We loved the location, right on the Wharf. The hotel was nautical in theme, but not kitschy. It was elegant, and the staff was great, the lobby was beautiful and at 5pm the staff hosted a great wine tasting, so many travelers gathered around the gigantic fireplace. We met a couple from Britain who joined us for dinner later. The parking /entry was a mess, there is no safe or easy way to unload, we had to stop in the middle of the street after a few passes around the block. Otherwise we would definitely stay there again!”

• Great Staff. Public areas are very nice.
• The rooms are very small. No table in the room.

“Great location, great staff. This was a business/pleasure trip with my wife. The room had a tiny desk and no table. Working in the room was a task. Even so, the great service and location makes it a nice place to stay as long as your not spending to much time in the room.”

• Poor sound insulation between the rooms.

“Excellent hotel in prime position in Fisherman's Wharf. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are nicely decorated in a nautical theme. Free wine and beer in the lobby between 5 - 6 pm. Ridiculously expensive valet parking, 40 bucks to drive the car round the corner for one night.”

“It was a beautiful hotel with a central location. It had a nautical theme throughout. Overall a great stay. We will definitely be back every time we visit San Francisco.”

• All calls for service, i.e. housekeeping were handled promptly.
• The room was too small for a family of 4. No counterpace in bath. We constantly tripped over our suitcases. Horrible view.

“The room was advertised as having a great view over the bay. Our view was a brick wall. The pictures looked very roomy however there wasn't even room for our luggage (4 carryon pieces). We had to stack the luggage as not to trip over it getting in/out of the room. Perhaps they stuck us in a small room because we booked thru pl (?) The hotel was not full. There was a problem at check out because of pl/hotel error. This delayed our departure 15 minutes. We had to tip the taxi extra for the wait. Fortunately, the billing problem was resolved by the time we returned home. I may use pl again, but not when traveling with kids. The location was excellent and we truly enjoyed most of our meals at the restaurant (6 meals). The chowder was fab.”

• Awesome hotel. Perfect location. Walk 1 block and have the Irish coffee.
• Perhaps rooms a touch small, but go to trip advisor and you'll see photos.

“Perfect location. Next to fishermans wharf and the park where the streetcars "sleep". In house restaurant was already closed at 9:10 pm, but walked 2 blocks for great crab legs, then grab an Irish coffee on the way back, but limit to 2 or you'll pay the price (like I did) the next am.”

• Great location, Neat Hotel, Great happy hour in lobby, Staff was great as well.
• Did not have a pool.

• Free happy hour at 5pm everyday. Rooms were tasteful and comfortable. Turndown service was provided at night very nice.
• Parking was $40 but that is to be expected downtown.

“Hotel service and staff was excellent! Free happy hour was provided at 5pm. Rooms were very cozy, clean and a tasteful nautical theme. We will be back it was a great time.”

“This is a very nice and clean hotel. Staff was very friendly. We opened the curtain to find a wall, which is okay since the place seemed great. However, they charged for everything! The paper, charged. Ride to/from airport? Charged. Use their computer to get boarding pass? Sure for a charge! Print it? Sure, for a price.”
