  • Great location! Bus 47 from CalTrain Station to front door! Free wired Internet (free WiFi in lobby).
  • Breakfast only served until 9:00 a.m.

“Each room has a comfortable king size bed. First room I stayed in had an uncomfortable bathroom and no Internet connectivity, but the second room was excellent. Free Ethernet Internet access in the room. Free WiFi and coffee in the lobby.”

  • Free continental breakfast.

“This hotel was secured and lobby was decorated nicely. The room is located 2 buildings back from this front entrance in a motel style 2-story.”

  • Quaint hotel and friendly staff.
  • Needed to keep looking over your shoulder on the walk to Union Sq.

“The hotel was ok, the sheets were clean, and I had a good night's sleep. I was told parking was free. It was not. $28.”

  • The location, staff an the room size.
  • Room smelled badly of smoke , but everything else was good.

“This hotel was close to what we needed, bus lines events and family. Our room was big enough, and the staff was great and helpful.”

  • Lobby only, and
    internet was
    OK and free.
  • It is a dump!

“Dingy room, not even in the hotel proper but a motel at the rear. There was only 1 ice machine for whole hotel. Sorry for the front desk help, they had bad attitude.”

  • Location and friendly staff, very helpful.
  • Bathroom in room very small & cramped, only one very small bar of soap.

“In all the hotel was nice, Carlos at the front desk was very helpful with info I requested from him!”

  • It was right in the center of everything! If we couldn't walk we would take a short trip on the Muni! It was awesome!
  • The room was really small.

“I really liked the hotel and the staff. The only issues I had were the size of the room and how a little out of date it was and well the parking fee. Although I did get a discount because of A!”

  • Location was close to restaurants, and public transportation. The security at the front door was great as you need your room key to open lobby door.
  • Room with the queen bed was small though very clean.

“For the price I paid through Priceline, it was worth the stay. Amenities were there,
continental breakfast served was substantial, attentiveness of staff and cleanliness good. Security at front door very assuring. Centrally located to all tourist attraction and easy freeway access to going south of the city.”

  • Location.
  • Parking lot entrance.

“I will stay this hotel again when I need to stay in the civic center area and would recommend it to others.”

  • Front desk person was great.
  • Too old and run down.

“For the money I would rather stay at a Comfort Inn or Super 8.”

  • Clean! Good location and
    very friendly staff.

“The hotel is in a good location and it also has a bus station. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was good. Eerything is awesomely clean! I will definitely go back!”

  • The continental breakfast was just right. The front desk service was excellent and all staff were very friendly and helpful.

“It is definitely not in the same category as a Holiday Inn or Motel 6. The hotel had personality and history that gave it a very distinct and comfortable feeling.”

  • The bed is not clean. Bugs bite my girlfriend at night.

“You can't complain considering the quality of the hotel itself. The location is convenient, pretty much near everything (restaurants, 10 blocks from downtown, etc). However, hotel room, especially the bed should be clean. I guess I got lucky, but my girlfriend got bitten by bugs at night while we are sleeping.

  • The location to Japan town and the Cathedral was excellent.
  • Carpet was filthy and other patrons were smoking weed.

“This hotel was not patron friendly. When complaining about a room where the smell coming out of, the management asked me to give a room number. I think they should have responded immediately. Also the carpet in our room was filthy. Parking was too expensive.”

  • Hotel has a lot of character as it is an older property (but properly maintained).
  • The continental breakfast was weak, only plain bagels and bread, plus cereal. There is no waffle maker, pastries, etc.

“Solid hotel with character, good value, good central location.”

  • Staff
    was friendly and nice.
  • It was dingy.

“The staff was really nice, but that does not compensate for the quality.”

  • We were able to walk to the Opera House (seven blocks).
  • Difficulty getting into parking space.

“Located on the edge of problably the worse part of San Francisco. Many homeless sleeping everywhere. Too bad.”

  • The hotel staff was friendly and fun!
  • I didn't like the location in regards to Union Square.

“I enjoyed walking everywhere, but it seemed like at the end of a long day of shopping the last thing I wanted to do was walk the 20 minutes back to the hotel, carrying all of my shopping bags. I enjoyed the staff, they were fun and very helpful. I would have liked to have room service.”

  • Great location, easy to walk to street trolley.
  • The bathrooms in the hotel rooms were outdated and unpleasant.

“I refused to stay in the first room after the first night, but due to exhaustion I stayed the first night. The staff readily gave me a different room, which was an improvement from the first but still not great. This is not the hotel to stay at if you are looking for a good hotel experience. What I did like about it, however, was that it was quirky and old.”
