“Safe neighborhood with decent restaurants nearby. 10 minutes walk to Civic Center BART station. Coffee maker, microwave and mini-frig in room were nice. I didn't know about free coffee, juice and muffin breakfast in tiny lobby until I was checking out. I would definitely stay here again because the price was right.”

“The room was clean and a good-size. The wireless Internet service was poor and I needed to call the 800-trouble number each time I needed to connect; the front office had no help for Internet or any other services. Half the time we checked the front desk no one was there. No help figuring out the local public transportation and references to local markets were inaccurate - asked for a local fruit market and was sent to a store that had two, over-ripe bananas - nothing else.”

“The hotel was very basic. But the price, for San Francisco was reasonable. The rooms are not well insulated and I could hear the people above me. When they got up to take a shower at 6:00 am, I left because it sounded as if the shower was in my ceiling.”

“There was a bit of trash next to the bed, a used cup on top of the TV. Next time, I'll look for different place.”

“Cool location, if you're looking to spend time at your motel other than just sleeping this isn't your place. Solid performer for the price. The guy in management was very friendly and professional.”

“We checked in easily enough, but the room had no towels for us and there was mold all over the ceiling of the shower, window sills and on most of the caulking in the bathroom & bed area. My boyfriend went down to talk to the front desk clerk about the mold. He got to look at 3 other rooms, all the same problem. In the middle of the night, we heard people trying to use a key in our door - luckily we had the chain hooked. After several minutes, we got a phone call from the front office, who when I answered, just hung up - they weren't even sure we were staying in the room and called to check, but wouldn't even apologize for disturbing us or say anything at all. Very poor experience. Should have taken advice of front desk & gone somewhere else.”

“The staff was friendly and you can tell they take care of the hotel even though it's dated. It's a losing battle of sorts. Not surprisingly the breakfast consisted of sugary, packaged pastries. I'm not expecting eggs or even toast, but at least put some apples and bananas out, perhaps some yogurt. The neighborhood is actually pretty hip. There are some cool restaurants, bars, and shops within a few blocks of the hotel. Also, the Civic Center BART station is a short walk away and there are some major bus lines that pick-up nearby.”

“It was not a bad motel, but I prefer staying in a cute SF hotel. The location was good, but the rooms are very bare bones and nothing luxurious. It was the only h/motel that I could find within my budget for that weekend.”

“This is a perfectly adequate hotel for the price and location. The staff was helpful and in a city with expensive parking, the on-site lot is a nice amenity. Avoid rooms by the stairs though; people seem to lack the strength to do anything but drag their luggage over the steps. It's the old style of motor lodge where rooms face a parking lot so some noise is to be expected.”

“Sub standard, headboard fell off bed, hair dryer was falling off the wall, the light fixture on the ceiling was about to fall, and it had wires sticking out of it, the drive way into the parking lot was blocked and the parking area was crammed with cars having to park in driving areas and non marked areas. We were blocked in for over 30 minutes by a construction truck, we asked them if they could move but then took more than 20 minutes. The sound of jack hammers all weekend. No conditioner in the bathroom, even after they came in to clean they didnt restock anything.”

“We were very surprised with all you received for the money. The room was very, very clean. It was in a perfect location for everything SF has to offer. The neighborhood was nice and very safe. Parking was a bonus, especially for San Francisco.”

“The hotel looks old outside but inside was nice and very clean. It looked very modern not old fashion looking. They had a microwave and a mini fridge inside the room. I thought that was a plus. They had parking in front also. I enjoyed my stay I had no problems at all.”

“Any complaints about this place from my point of view are real stretch. You'd have to be a spoiled little prince or princess to find fault with this place for the money. From the sense of humor of the late-night attendant lady, to the cleanliness of the room, all is tied together by the relatively safe neighborhood and the location within the city. We were lucky to be placed on the 4th floor, which faces somewhat northwest, and had a great view of the city. That meant stairs, and after about 5 miles of SF "hiking," made us whine a bit, but as I said, it's SF, you walk, you bus, you subway. That's the way of things. The air conditioning worked, the maids were friendly, and the pillows were heavenly. There was a young guy at the attached restaurant that was a bit hasty and rude as we walked in at 9:20 pm, that said they had finished seating already, closing at 10:00 pm. I think it was a "get out early and hit the clubs," evening for this guy. No sweat, delivery pizza it was. Parking is also limited, so plan your trips, or park and leave it. Don't hesitate to stay at this place. Well done, Days Inn on Grove!”

“The first flow is on the parking lot level and the least private. The desk attendant did not give me a choice even though other similar room were available.”

“The hotel is clean, but overpriced and inconvenient for government employees with business in the Financial District. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who must be on time for an early meeting; the traffic pattern and congestion is horrific from the hotel to the major streets going to and from the Financial District.”

“Extremely well located to see San Francisco sights and get to expressways. Rooms very small, but have refrigerators and microwaves. Close to arts center, walking distance to restaurants. Older motel, but serviceable. Biggest complaint is size of rooms.”
