• Bed & linens very comfortable.
• Thin walls, no magnification mirror, odd bathroom doors.

“We had to call hotel security twice due to partying neighbors; 2nd call resolved the problem - whatever they did, we appreciated it!”

• Terrific staff.
• The bed was uncomfortable. Lots of noise came through the walls and windows.

• I enjoyed the outside heated pool.

“I was visiting family for the holidays and I wanted a convenient hotel. I particularly enjoyed using the outdoor heated pool. The room was not large but serviceable and the beds were very comfortable.”

• Location can't be beat.
• Thin walls - could hear neighbor snoring. Age starting to show a little.

“Perfect location for business/tourism, just blocks from Union Sq and Cable Car. Rental cars across the street. Nothing particularly wrong with the hotel - just starting to show it's age a little and the walls were thin. No complaints though.”

• Crowded convention hotel, impersonal, too busy.

“Nice location, appreciated the attractiveness of the room, hotel facilities were nicely appointed and well-maintained if not exciting. Hotel staff was well trained and friendly.”

• The location was great for shopping, and the event we went to see. It is also close to the train stations.

“The hotel is very large. The rooms were kept up nicely and the housekeeping staff right on top of tings. The room we were assigned did not have a safe. Always be sure to ask for a safe when booking if it is important to you. We very much enjoyed this hotel.”

• The mattress was great! Room was nice size, quiet, overlooked the pool.
• I understand there were several noise complaints, but it was a busy week-end in the city! Noise at night was not part of our experience.

“Nice ambiance, convenient to Union Square and MOMA. Close to public transportation. Friendly staff. Variety of guests. Cleaning crew is competent!”

• Very long hallways with no seating to rest along the way.

“Extremely prompt and helpful staff. The heavy glass shower door was scraping the shower threshold and I was trapped, I was too weak to push it open, thank goodness my husband was there to free me. I could have been stuck in there with no way of communicating with the staff. When this was reported, staff was there within minutes and repaired the bent hinge immediately.”

• The check-in and check-out process was very efficient and the staff friendly.
• Rooms are a bit small and parking is much too expensive.

“Overall, the hotel met our expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is convenient but is located very near an unsafe area for tourists.”

• Good location, nicely appointed.
• Small room, on the edge of sketchy neighborhood.

“Very nice lobby, friendly, helpful staff. Upgrade to room with city view was nice, although room was quite small. Nice view to the west of the city and an occasional glimpse of the Golden Gate bridge through the fog. Excellent pool area on the 16th floor. Urban Tavern is a hip, interesting restaurant drawing a nice crowd of traveler and local. Overall a very nice experience, 3.5 stars in my book.”
