“Would not recommend this motel to anyone. This is a 40-50 year old 2 story roadside motor motel which has has a poor attempt at updating.”

• The friendly staff and the good (but not great) location, free good parking
• Area not so close to tourist activities, no good going-out opportunities within walking distance

• Free parking, had a fridge in room, entrance leading straight to the outside.
• With the 2 double beds, it was a bit crowded.

“Bare essential, no-fuss room. Good for just sleeping there. There is not much in the neighborhood, we had to walk a few blocks just to find something to eat. There are a few convenience stores close by. It does the job of providing a bed and shower. Was ok for a couple of nights' stay.”

• Excellent location, close to Fisherman's Wharf & public transit, free parking.
• Rooms close to the street are quite noisy.

“Excellent location to Fisherman's Wharf. Free parking available. Also, easy access to public transit. Good rate for the location. Basic amenities. Don't expect any extra facilities.”

• Clean, no frills, friendly staff, the kind of motel you find off any interstate highway.
• Could be noisy if room isn't in a corner, avoid front rooms on Van Ness.

“Spent a week. Typical motel. Clean and comfortable. Not for the romantic. Affordable for San Francisco (with parking). Easy access to public transport on Van Ness at corner. Would stay there again. International travelers will find it adequate.”

• Easy location, helpful staff and
  easy parking.
• Room was dusty, smelled like air freshener and bathroom fan did not work! Elevator was dirty.

“Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to Fishermans Wharf and other San Fancisco landmarks. Free parking.”

• Price wasn't bad, and the location (i.e. close to Fisherman's Warf) wasn't too far away.
• You only had two small bath towels, and no place to stash your luggage.

“All in all I guess it wasn't too bad. I guess I was expecting more as I have never stayed in a 2-star hotel before, it was a bit of a culture shock.”

• Absolutely nothing!
• Everything!

“This place is the biggest dive I have ever seen! Terrible location! Homeless people were passing drug paraphernalia around just a block away (1/2" gap around door that 1) wouldn't allow the door to lock too. Big enough to let daylight through. Carpet was black from dirt. Mold growing everywhere in the bathroom (& smelling)! Afraid to take a closer look at the bedding. This place creped me out & I was only in it for a 1/2 hour. Just long enough to find another place.”

• Very close to fisherman's wharf and the cable car and public transportation.
• Skimped on the towels, had a funny smell initially.

“Close to several attractions, with easily accessible public transportation for those farther away. Also close to Highway101, if traveling by car through California. Stroll down fisherman's wharf by Ghirardelli Square to the Hyde street cable car terminus and catch the cable car Downtown and to Chinatown.”

• It was nicely located to fisherman's wharf.
• I could hear a lot of street noise at night.

“This hotel was nice for the price. It was in walking distance of fisherman's wharf and other attractions which was nice. The staff was very nice and helpful at all times. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is on a budget as I was.”

• Good location--within walking distance of key places.
• Street side room are a little noisy.

“A little more expensive than its worth, but it is San Francisco, and everything is more expensive. The hotel was nothing special, but it was clean, safe, and very convenient. Within walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square, and easy access to public transportation.”

• Great location near bus stop in Fisherman's Wharf.
• Room is smelly, breakfast is not good.

“We are two people who just want a clean place to stay for 5 nights. This hotel have great location, just one block near the bus stop. But we can't endure the smell of room. Maybe it's the odor of room refresher, but the smell was terrible and didn't disperse all day long.”

“Although this hotel is located close to Fisherman's Wharf, it is clearly not valued by its owners. There was graffiti and a dingy bathtub in the restroom. There was also an incessant tick coming from the small refrigerator. It also seemed that there were people living in the motel. I was not pleased with this experience at all and I did not feel comfortable staying in this motel. If there were a 0-star rating, this motel earned it!”

• It was very convenient to route 30 bus line which got us most places we wanted to go.
• It would have been a good value for a 1-star hotel, but the very dirty room carpet kept it from being a 2-star facility.

“This older facility has been renovated and the improvements are obvious. I liked the muffin and coffee minimal breakfast. The room carpet left dirty, black marks on socks and was really nasty. (The desk personnel said they clean the carpets every few months but it was a real turn off and should lower the ranking to a 1-star.) The place is very convenient to important bus routes. The western edge of Fisherman's Wharf is at least 6 blocks away.”

• Fairly good location.
• Very old - no newspaper rack - had to search for Sun paper.

“The hotel is older, but clean. The best aspect of hotel was it was within a 15 minute walk of Fisherman's Wharf. Considering the high hotel prices in SF, it was a decent room and good location for the cost.”

• Old, run down. Not the cleanest place ever. Paper thin walls.

• Dirty, tiny rooms.

“Do not stay here! This is a dirty motel. The 1st room we were put in stunk so badly of human body odor! It was disgusting and we couldn't even stand to be in the room for 5 minutes from the strong odor. 2nd room was not just small but tiny. We had 2 adults & 25 year olds and there was not even enough room to put our suitcases somewhere. The pillow case had stains on it & we had to request new bedding because of it. The TV remote did not work. It was very noisy from the traffic. Breakfast was muffins & donuts. Not enough parking spaces so they stacked the cars in behind each other too deep. This place was so bad.”
