  • Cottage and overall ambiance.
  • No free internet.

“The lodge was very attractive and conveniently located. There are not many nice hotels in the area. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. There was a free wine tasting every night in the lobby. Great hotel.”

  • Great fitness room, nice to have outside patio.
  • Front desk staff asked me to take my dishes to the restaurant.

“While this hotel would like to consider itself a premier destination, it appears to be experiencing a transitional stage. Perhaps not understanding the needs and expectations of a well-traveled customer. The hotel manages to get it right in some areas (Fitness and Spa areas) while just not providing the courteous staff one has come to expect at this level of establishment.”

  • I loved the spacious room and especially the bathroom! The combo shower tub was big and had the rounded curtain rod.

“The property was beautiful and had that lodge feeling to it which adds to the wine country experience. The rooms were spacious as were the bathrooms. There was a separate room for the toilet. There was combo shower/tub with plenty of space for your toiletries and I personally love the curved shower bars! I will definitely go back!”

  • The French doors in the rooms.

“This hotel was beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. An employee greeted us and handed us a cold bottled water and we were checked in with10 minutes. We walked to wine tasting and to the hotel's awesome restaurant. They had a ton of good movies to rent from and it was extremely quiet. First good sleep that I've had in a hotel in ages!”

  • Inconsistent level of service from staff. Some great, others standoffish.

“Good hotel for the price. I think most travelers to Sonoma will have a car so it's located in a good spot relative to the Sonoma Plaza (main square). On two distinct occasions, I had experiences that left me feeling less valued than other customers. Perhaps it was because I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt but I was speaking to the front desk clerk and even though our conversation was not complete, he turned to the fellow that was next in line (wearing a slick suit) to address his question. Only when he was done with that individual, did he turn his attention back to me and my wife. Another incident was with the concierge at 7 am. Perhaps 7 am says it all. But she was a bit stand offish. I suggested an itinerary for my morning and her response was you can't do it all. No suggestions on how I could squeeze in what I wanted to do. Needless to say, it wasn't very difficult for me to get it done on my own without her assistance. That said, the rest of the staff I dealt with were great. Would I come back? Probably not. There are so many other good spots in Sonoma that I would like to experience.”

  • There is a power station close by that slightly obscured our view.

“We absolutely love this hotel. The staff is great, and they steered us to many wonderful wine tasting and culinary experiences in the Sonoma valley. We would stay here anytime!”

  • The hotel was a resort hotel with spa included. They upgraded us to a suite on there property of bungalows, without charging us.
  • The room service and food prices were very expensive.

“This resort hotel has all that is expected in a 4 star Hotel, wonderful restaurant, spa service and spa was unique and peaceful. I would go again in an instant!”

  • Bathroom shower smells and water leaks out onto floor.

“Very friendly and helpful employees there to give you a helping hand and make you smile. The only bad thing is the bathroom shower. The floor leaks out water when you step on it. It smelled and water gets all over the bathroom when you shower.”
