  • Very environmentally green.
  • No public computer available.

“Nice room. Simple breakfast included. Had to go outside and use room key to get into place with ice - not very convenient. People at desk helpful - bus schedule etc.”

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“Horrible in every way. Four sets of door keys did not work, TV did not work, the hot water was tepid, not hot, the heater made loud noises and you could hear the traffic from highway 101 constantly. This was the worst motel experience I have ever had in my decades of traveling.”

  • Easy to find. Could be seen from freeway!
  • Right next to freeway, with no Noise wall in between!

“Nice and clean, with a helpful & friendly staff.”

  • Location. Room requested was provided.
  • Adjoining restaurant was very expensive but lovely.

“Staff was very accommodating to our request for a room in the back to avoid highway noise. Continental breakfast offered a variety of fresh food and produce. We'll definitely return!”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[4] • Location:[8]

  • Convenient location, complimentary breakfast.
  • Did not provide non smoking room. Came into my room in spite of do not disturb sign at the door.

“I was checking in on time (the check in starts at 2:00 pm and I was checking in at 3:00pm). He first said that I can/will go into any room. I said "only if you have a reason to believe there is a problem with the guest and/or room". He then said that he would investigate the situation and get back to me. I never heard from him (it has been over 6 weeks since).”

  • It was average.
  • Too close to freeway, very small bathroom.

“Hotel check-in is literally 30 feet from Hwy. 101. Rooms are probably 100' with no sound wall. Traffic can be heard in front bldg. rooms. Restaurant band/DJ playing Friday night was louder than the hwy. traffic and played until midnight. Upon arrival was placed in a smoking room with 2 double beds. Request non-smoking king. King bed not available but was moved to a non-smoking room with double beds. Hotel was older with some updates. Brick rooms were cold and had to run wall mounted window unit all night. Unit was noisy & not thermostat controlled. Bathroom was very small for one person, not acceptable for two travelers. Inn Marin webpage advertises it has a three diamond AAA rating. Check-in lobby displayed a one diamond AA placque. The Inn Marin does not compare to the Courtyard. The Inn Marin is a 1 1/2 star property at best.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[5]

  • The front desk staff was helpful and friendly.
  • Highway noises prevent any meaningful sleep from happening.

“If sleep is what you are after from a hotel, then unfortunately, the Marin Inn feel short. Even with ear plugs in, the freeway noise was unrelenting. The location was easy to get to and the staff was friendly, but I left the next day in desperate need of a night's sleep.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[5] • Location:[3]

  • Exquisite lush grounds and lobby, ambience in credible at restaurant.
  • Bumbling staff recording my booking in correctly, tried to double bill me, food atrocious at lovely restaurant.

“Inn Marin is suffering from growing pains. They've made the grounds incredibly romantic and lush, and the lobby and restaurant (Rickey's) are aesthetically delightful. The bumbling hotel staff and amateur chef do not match the lovely exteriors. The rooms are only marginal in appearance and comfort. There is a very loud freeway just outside, and the back of the hotel, where you enter your room, does not feel safe at night. I think they'll grow in to themselves, though. I will give them another shot, but not until 2008. They need some time to get It together.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[7] • Location:[7]

  • The staff was very nice.
  • My hotel room smelled so bad of smoke that I left early.

“The hotel was convenient to drive to. The freeway noise was a bit bothersome, but there were rooms away from the freeway side. My room stank of smoke and/or cigarettes. It was so bad, that I stayed there only one night of a two night stay that was paid for. I would not stay there again, I must be sensitive, but that room was unbearable.”

  • Attractive public spaces.
  • Restaurant is good but expensive for what you get.

“I enjoyed staying here. The room was clean and in good condition. The bed was comfortable. The grounds were attractive. I was in a room away from the highway, so the noise was not bad (this could be a concern with some of the rooms).”

  • We enjoyed their pool area very much, the complimentary breakfast and the free Wi-Fi internet.
  • We did not like that there was not a microwave or fridge in the rooms.

“Overall, it was a good experience. The rooms could use some updating, but they were clean and comfortable.”

  • The rooms were clean and the restaurant was nice. The pool area was nice.
  • The hotel took it upon themselves to move our belongings and my sister-in-laws belongings to another room without authorization.

“The room was clean and the restaurant was nice and the food was good. After our first night the next day we left the hotel and were gone until late in the evening. We came back to our rooms to find that our card keys didn't work and there was someone in my room. We questioned the person at the front desk and she said that the staff moved our belongings to other rooms. This was without our knowledge and approval. My husband and I were originally in a room with a king bed and they moved us to a room with two double beds. My husband is 6'5" and 300 lbs. In addition, my sister-in-law was missing items that were taken from her suitcase and one item was laid across her suitcase. Basically we were told that they had overbooked. The rooms were not as nice. We talked to the manager the next day. She also apologized and gave us candy and a note. The letter basically was inferring that we were at fault, etc. I am very unsatisfied and will never recommend anyone to that hotel. We seriously felt violated and our stuff was moved like our toothbrushes and toiletry and dirty clothes. How disgusting is that?”

  • We were pleasantly surprised. Cozy, quaint, friendly, nice gardens, pool, breakfast included, great location between wine country and city.
  • They have minimal queen/king beds.

“I was not sure when we drove up what this place would be like. It is located right next to a major highway. When we walked into the registration office our thoughts changed. Very quaint, clean, friendly atmosphere. The pool and grounds were very nice. A very nice breakfast was included in a cozy dining area. It is in a wonderful location for touring the city/ marine/and wine country. A little jewel rated appropriately as a two and a half star. We will return.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[2] • Location:[1]

  • There was nothing good about this hotel.
  • Restaurant food poisonous, terribly loud location beside freeway, filthy smelly rooms, unusable pool and hot tub.

“Got food poisoning at the restaurant. Even after a weeks notice was a non-smoker put in a filthy, reeking smoking room, hotel right on freeway, extremely loud traffic all day and night, hotel pool and spa are actually part of the restaurant service area so not useable, air conditioning in rooms and public room all defective, roasted all night and at dinner on relatively mild day.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • The fireplace, oil paintings, coffee in lobby, family owned.
  • Really close to the freeway, but not noisy in room.

“Inn marine is a perfect spot for families. The grassy courtyard and quaint fountain are a lovely setting for outdoor play. Our kids loved the sky chairs hanging from the old magnolia in the center of the courtyard. The pool was large and inviting and the continental breakfast more than adequate. The room was nice and parking was convenient.”

  • Convenient.
  • Close to highway.

“Convenient location and easy access, perfect for my one night business stay. Hotel had all needed amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to the highway but my room was in the rear courtyard, so it was not noisy. The rooms were clean and comfortable.”

  • Inn marine way exceeded my expectations.
  • They can make the rooms better by covering the brick walls.

“Staff was excellent. They had the standard wireless service, but also provided a higher speed dedicated DSL service for a nominal fee. The whole hotel was obviously done with service and exceeding expectations, from the complimentary beverages, furnishings, and little touches.”

  • Beds were very comfy.
  • Linen, sheets included smelled like cigarette smoke. We had a non-smoking room!

“We would stay there again. The smoky smelling linens bugged us the first night, but then the smell seemed to go away a bit more each day. I asked the maid not to change the sheets as we walked by her cart one morning and all the clean linens piled on it reeked of cigarette smoke! Everything else was very nice, except the continental breakfast was very "weak". We didn't eat there after morning one! (Maybe that's the whole idea.).”
