• The shower was broken and they couldn't have cared less.

• Close to airport and restaurant.
• Put in smoking room - did not like.

“Room is large, furnishings were ok, but room smelled like smoke. Bathroom was small and the vanity did not have enough counter space to accommodate personal items.”

• I liked the view over the Columbia river, I loved the room size.
• The bed was a bit too soft, causing me to sink into the mattress and not sleep enough.

“The hotel provided a good service was very clean. They also provided a decent hot continental breakfast and had a social meet in the evening during the week. Downside is the limited amount of local restaurants. Although Salty's Sea food Restaurant is close and runs a shuttle. Also the hotel wouldn't shuttle you anywhere except the airport, which does leave you locally stranded.”

• There was a makeup mirror in the bathroom.
• The air conditioner rattled, toilet wouldn't stop running, TV didn't work.

“The hotel was in a convenient. The air conditioner always rattled, sometimes it would get really loud too. We had to keep fixing the toilet because it wouldn't stop running. And once in a while the TV would get lines through it and make a loud buzzing noise. We stayed there for 3 nights and I was not happy there. I will definitely not stay at a Clarion ever again. I did like that there was a makeup mirror in the bathroom but that's pretty much it. We didn't ask for another room because it's such a hassle to pack everything back up and move.”

• Um, fruit?
• The room stunk and we had to sleep with the windows open to breathe.

“When we complained to the front-desk person she said she couldn't help us as we did not work directly with the hotel. We only stayed because we did not want to travel in the dark in a foreign place. The experience was one of the worst I have had in quite a while.”

• Air conditioner is too noisy.

“I love the king size bed. It's very comfortable and soft. It has everything I may need, such as microwave, fridge, internet, free airport shuttle and breakfast. I would recommend my friends to come and stay at Clarion Hotel.”

• The breakfast buffet was very good - hot buffet with lots of options.
• The WiFi access in our room was non existent for the first two days of our stay and their was only one laundry room available for the entire hotel.

“This hotel was an amazing. A few small complaints were the lack of WiFi access and the difficulty in getting the hotel staff to fix the problem (we had to speak with different staff). The bathroom sink area was also a bit small (high on style and little low on functionality). But the breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were well cleaned.”

• The hotel is clean and quiet. The location is convenient from the airport. The bedding and comfort of the beds exceeded our expectations.
• The breakfast was crowded, eggs were cold and the person keeping the area stocked could not keep up.

• Cool, calm, clean, quiet, relaxing, helpful, great view.
• The ice machine was out on my floor.

“Spaciously comfortable, air conditioning was decent, friendly, helpful staff, lovely luxurious rooms and bathroom with view of the Columbia River, very clean, quiet and comfortable. Well equipped rooms with fridge, microwave and coffee maker with industrial china and glass instead of plastic, Styrofoam. Even though the ice machine was out on my floor I give it 10 points for the fluffy towels and plenty of quiet and comfort!”

• Spacious room, excellent linens, free internet access.
• Only smoking rooms were available.

“Although I was disappointed to be placed in a smoking room (which did smell musty). The linens on the bed were so fresh and pleasant that I could disregard the smoky smell when I was sleeping (which matters most to me).”

• The room was very well furnished and the lake behind the hotel was gorgeous.
• We had a Tempur-Pedic mattress and my girlfriend and I find them somewhat uncomfortable.

“Our stay at this hotel was outstanding, with only one point of contention. The Staff was very nice and helpful; the hotel itself looks very up to date, with well furnished comfortable rooms. The shuttle to the airport runs regularly in the mornings and upon request later on. The view of the lake from our room on the third floor was beautiful, and we did not use the pool to hot tub, but they were clean as well. The single downside we experienced was the mattress. I don't know if every room is supplied with a Tempur-Pedic, but my girlfriend and I personally don't like them.”

• Excellent finishes in the room! Really upscale. On a lake.
• However, the soundproofing was poor. Luckily we were exhausted.

“Except for the lack of soundproofing (toilets, water running), this was an excellent facility. Great breakfast, great upscale finishes in the room. Lovely setting on a lake.”

• Clean. Comfortable bed, Internet free and easy to sign in. Front desk manager on days very nice and helpful.
• Noisy neighbors upstairs pounding around from midnight to 4 AM and an uncooperative night manager -- unwilling to make the neighbors aware.

“I stayed one night with very little sleep. The people on the floor above me were "pounding around" from midnight to 4:30 AM. Finally at 3:30 AM I called the front desk and requested she alert them that they were keeping me awake and request that they soften their steps. Long story here, bottom-line she didn't want to give those people the benefit of the doubt -- that they might care, once aware. Instead she preferred to put me in my place, and tell me to understand for "their sake." I had three important interviews to do that day, and with very little rest. I was insulted (not as important), and spent too much money to go without restful sleep. Other than this ignorant, non-PR-savvy "night manager," the room, cleanliness, and dayshift front desk was wonderful. Close to airport -- also nice.”

• The women running the breakfast bar was clueless.

“The hotel was located just outside of the airport and was very easy to access. The rooms were clean as were the common areas. The person who checked us in was either not aware or in need of additional training. All things considered, I would stay at the Clarion in Portland again.”

• The breakfast was great, room clean staff was friendly.
• The room smelt bad.

“The hotel was easy to find, just a short drive to IKEA and the Max (light rail train). I would stay here again. Although the room smelt badly when we first arrived the staff was friendly and accommodating, they took care of it immediately.”
