  • The lady bartender at the hotel bar & restaurant served us for dinner extremely well..
  • The tub's stopper and on-off system was not usable or understandable by the average human being.

“Aging facility, but clean and well-run. Staff ranged from attentive and courteous, to great. No negatives.”

  • Convenient location.
  • Small room, poor lighting, filthy doors (exterior/ bath doors) sub-par linens and pillows.

“Clean, attractive lobby. What a difference when we got to the room. Filthy doors, sticky desk surface, beds uncomfortable, pillows and linens were sub-par. Would like to see star level at a 2.”

  • The shower was excellent, the lone saving grace.
  • It appeared to be government apartment housing converted into a hotel.

“Almost impossible to be closer to PDX airport. The exterior is depressing. The interior decor is dark, drab, and depressing. We stayed out of the hotel room as long as possible to avoid feeling trapped in a bad 70s psycho-drama. The shower was this rooms savior- great water pressure and lots of hot water. Good when you are traveling. Didn't justify the price though.”

  • Close to Portland Airport.
  • Looked a bit run down and more like an old motel.

“Friendly staff, clean room, the rest of the Motel is kind of run down and needs up-dating. No elevator to the second floor.”

  • Very convenient location to airport.
  • The hallways, exterior could use updating.

“This hotel is fine for one evening as a business traveler, I would not recommend this hotel for newlyweds, romance, etc. Straight up business and a convenient ride to the airport in the morning.”

  • The restaurant and the server there.
  • The room was dirty and very far away from the front desk.

“From the beginning when we called in to request a king bed it was downhill. The front desk clerk was snooty and unfriendly. Our room was dirty when we arrived and we came in late (pre-arranged) and they gave us a room in the back forty. The only good thing was the food and the service at the restaurant. We will not come back here.”

  • Very comfortable room.
  • No elevator.

“Very conveniently located hotel for travelers who want to stay near the airport. The room was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. We only stayed overnight so didn't have a chance to try out any of the services.”

  • General location wasn't too bad.
  • Bad hotel.

“Mold around tub, caulk gone from tile floor, rude personnel at front desk, horrible ceiling patch job, maid left the bedspread laying on the floor after doing room!, trash behind nightstand we found when having to plug in clock, stains on carpet, loose toilet seat, just an overall bad experience this time - definitely needs to be downgraded.”

  • The rooms were clean and comfortable.
  • The hallways were run down, and were in need of cleaning.

“The staff although friendly enough did not go to any lengths to assist guests. The hotel is in need of cleaning and updating. Although the area seemed safe enough - the doors are not locked to the hallways.”

  • Clean and quiet, close to PDX.

“Room appeared clean, not convenient if you plan on doing anything in downtown Portland. I think this hotel is good to stay the night prior to an early flight.”

  • Nicely decorated
  • A little small. Thought it had a continental breakfast.

“Only stayed one night from 10:00 at night until 9:00 in the morning.”

  • I liked the shower - lots of water pressure. Liked having free internet access in the room.
  • Was not too family friendly, in that there were lots of male patrons.

“It was fine for a couple of days. It would be good if you were flying in or out of the airport. It was pretty clean and the staff was friendly.”

  • When we asked for a room change due to noise they complied.
  • Planes come in very close to hotel. Extremely noisy.

“We were not impressed with this particular Red Lion. The building was extremely run down and the public places were not clean. The staff although well meaning seemed very disorganized. When we tried to get restaurant service (ordered nachos at about 8 pm, we were told to try another restaurant as they were too busy.”

  • The staff.
  • Scary. Side doors did not lock. My room was first door to side exterior door.

“They are trying. Red Lion took over two (2) years ago. Previously Travelodge and Airporter hotel. Explains no elevators. Staff absolutely wonderful. Hotel itself needs to be revamped to come up to par w/Red Lion reputation.”

  • Its a nice hotel. Good staff.
  • Very far from city.

“Good hotel just far from the city.”

  • Friendly service and nice hotel for the money.
  • Beds a little too firm for my taste.

“Hotel shuttle was right on time and hotel room was clean.”

  • I liked the staff and location.
  • My room door was open before I got there, called the front desk they stated that the housekeeping staff can often forget to fully close the doors.

“It is not an updated/upgraded rooms.”

  • The beds , the mini fridge and the microwave.
  • The hotel guide hours and info were not correct and the
    halls were not locked.

“It was
OK for a hotel near an airport. The hallways aren't locked, that's not too safe. There were some sctechy teenage kids coming and going. The walls aren't too thick. You can hear everyone in the hallways”

  • The room itself looked nice.
  • The sheets were wrinkled & the pillowcases were wrinkled as if the sheets and pillowcases were not changed.

“Last year I stayed at that same Red Lion in Portland. It was dirty that time also. I feel like that particular Red Lion is a poor quality hotel. I have not been happy either time I stayed there.”

Jul 25, 2009 by Bert from Tucson,AZ

  • room service was excellent
  • room was not that clean, deep smoke smell

“This is an old property whose only redeeming quality is the proximity to the airport and a kind staff.”
