“Worth the price for a quick, no-frills stay. They'll pick you up from nearest tram station and have a free airport shuttle. The room was clean, nothing fancy.”

“Fantastic place. While I wouldn't say this is the spot for a tourist (not the best part of the city, no scenery), it was quiet, clean, and everyone was very hospitable.”

“The room was good and clean. The bathroom was better than most places I stay, with a clean tub, good water pressure, and good drainage. TV reception was poor and that bothered my spouse a bit.”

“Old hotel that they've tried to spruce up. Noisy hallwasys. Lack of parking and the outside needed more lighting. Front desk staff is not friendly. Not in the best part of Portland. Close to airport and they did provide shuttle service.”

“Nice hotel with friendly helpful staff. Room was clean and nice but the bathtub needed work and the phone line was not connected to the phone and I missed my wake up call.”

“With alot of traffic going in and out of my neighbors room all night. People banging on the door 4 out of 7 nights between 12-2 am. Ridiculous.”

“I was impressed with this hotel and think it deserves a higher rating because of the good customer service. The room was clean and had a lot of amenities that I used. Iron, fridge, microwave, a pillow top bed. The staff was nice, and the lobby was nice. The only bad part was the room had a slight bad smell, and a gross looking stain near the toilet. None of which ruined my short stay. I would definitely stay here again.”

“This was my first stay at a Howard Johnston hotel but it won't be my last. I found it clean and the facilities excellent. The staff where friendly, polite and very helpful.”

“After lugging suitcase up stairs (no elevator) I opened door and their was someone's luggage. Was told it belonged to hotel staff. Went back to lobby, given another room. After getting to it, opened door and overwhelming smell of perfume or lotion. At that point too tired to do anything. It was a tiny room with one bed because.”

“Not bad for the money, but if you're looking for a vacation spot, I'd skip unless you were on a harsh budget.”

“I would never recommend this hotel. It was fairly inexpensive, but definitely not worth any amount of money saved. There were holes in the blankets; soft lumpy mattresses; mold in the bathroom; no alarm clock; and the desk attendants were not very friendly. No matter how limited your budget is, do not stay at this hotel.”

“I was put into a room the first night that had a broken tub, and a hole in the wall. We were met by a manager the next morning who didnt even know we were there, and were told that no one was supposed to be in the room us to remodeling. But during that night, no one told us that, even though I had called the desk 3 times to complain of broken tubs and wires hanging out of the wall. Then we were moved to another room, that isnt the kind of room I reserved, and the bed was broken! When I called to complain, the guy asked if it was bad enough that id fall off of it, when told no, he said thank you and hung up. He showed up at the door a few min later, saw the leg of the bed broken off, took the leg and left.”
