  • Much nicer than I expected when I made the initial offer.
  • Pricing on hotel parking was a bit high.

“The staff of this hotel was five star. They were very accomodating and met to all my needs. The hotel itself was allot nicer than I was expecting and had very nice rooms with a great view of the river. This hotel was also pet friendly and enjoyed seeing people with their dogs. I was also not expecting a free buffet in the morning so it was a pleasant surprise. Don't expect five star food, but it was just enough to get me going in the morning. I highly recommend this hotel as you will enjoy it as much as I did.”

  • Marvelous all-around hotel.
  • Parking is pricey but I found satisfactory on street parking easily.

“This hotel is one of the very best. It's as close to being a 4* hotel, solidly in the 3* category.”

  • Renovated!
  • Parking was $21.

“This is a clean and recently renovated hotel. The room was nice and spacious, with a kitchenette and living room. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The only downfall was the overnight parking of $21.”

  • Convenient location, magnificent breakfast buffet.
  • Parking fees.

“A great place to stay, but I wouldn't stay there again. The $21 per night parking charge is outrageous and cost almost as much as the car I rented! Next time I visit Portland I'll stay out in the 'burbs where the parking is free.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • The rooms were nice, clean had stove top and full size fridge.
  • The hot tub quit working and seemingly not much effort to repair was made.

“The hotel is located in a very nice new business district south of Downtown with easy free access to Downtown via streetcar. The room was clean and had great amenities like a full size fridge and freezer and a two burner range, dishes, pots, pans & silverware. Internet service was provided as well as a fax machine in the lobby. It was very clean and quite. A full buffet breakfast was served each morning with mediocre quality.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • The breakfast buffet was the best I have experienced in a hotel. Close to public transit.
  • No valet parking.

“The Marriot Residence Inn located in the Waterfront District of Downtown Portland has all the comforts of home while providing the traveler with the ease of getting around in a big city. The hotel is located less than one block from the Portland Streetcar so you can be in the Downtown District in less than five minutes. The rooms are roomy and comfortable and the breakfast bar provides the best breakfast bar in the city. This hotel is a must stay for the leisure traveler, with pets or homelike feel for a family vacation.”

  • Very clean. Close to easy public transit. Free breakfast. A very nice hotel.
  • I guess it could be closer to central Downtown Portland, but the public transit makes up for it.

“This hotel was great. Free breakfast every morning not just muffins etc. Eggs, hash browns, Belgium waffles the works. Its located right next to a Portland street car stop that comes by every 15 minutes. The fare is free to get into central Downtown Portland. Its a very clean and nice hotel.”

  • Great breakfast/ liked that the rooms are suites w/kitchens.
  • Parking was an issue.

“Very nice hotel, right on the river. It was a bit of a walk to get to downtown shopping area. Great customer service, hotel very well maintained and well run.”

  • Loved the room size. Continental breakfast was awesome-hot food available-yea! Fast check-in! Easy in and out!
  • Parking price.

“Enjoyed being on the river and the size of the room. The bag of popcorn was a bonus. Easy access. Clean!”

  • All of the employees seemed to take pride in their work; and showed a friendly and helpful attitude towards the customers.
  • I did not like the fact that the hotel was situated under and next to a major highway, as well as a power grid of some sort.

“This hotel was excellent as far as cleanliness and friendliness were concerned; while also providing a wide variety of food for the complimentary breakfast. The trolley stop was most convenient for getting around town without a car. The area was quiet despite the major highway that was near. I would definitely stay at this location again.”

  • Near trolley line and large room.
  • Interstate directly out the window.

“Hotel was great, staff was excellent, breakfast was excellent. My window happened to look directly at a few overpasses, but other than that, it was perfect.”

“My hotel was rated as a 2 1/2 stars I was a little worried it would be a dive. Was I ever surprised! It was such a nice place.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Bright, clean, very nice suites, excellent breakfasts, pet friendly.
  • We were directed to the freeway to head home via a main road that was closed for a walkathon all the way down to the freeway access ramp.

“Very helpful staff, lovely suites and the hot breakfast every morning made up for the fact that we had to pay a nightly fee to park in the hotel lot. The hotel is right on the trolley line, so we were able to leave the car parked (no more parking fees, thanks) and ride the trolley wherever we wanted to go. Also, the hotel is pet friendly.”

  • Quality and location.
  • No concerns whatsoever.

“Very impressed, large room with sitting area and small kitchen complete with fridge with ice maker, dishwasher, micro, and two burners. Beautifully decorated! Great complimentary buffet in the morning, local newspaper, parking a bit expensive for the area but that's the city. All in all very nice.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • Spacious, comfortable room.
  • Mandatory $20 parking.

“Really nice, clean, spacious, modern rooms. Staff was professional, breakfast buffet was better than most. No soda fountain at the buffet - need my morning coke! Heat-pump in the room shuts off with a thump, just as you're almost asleep. Good thing I was really tired. And they have optional $20 parking, but the other option is to park anywhere you can find in the few surrounding blocks, which really isn't an option.”
