  • Big and comfy, very nice rooms.
  • Too close to the freeway, Could hear semi-trucks.

  • Great location, top notch amenities, balcony overlooking river, swimming pool, free parking, convenient to downtown and airport.
  • Carpet was very stained and the balcony could have used a table.

“Large convention type upscale hotel with all the amenities. Did not go to fitness center or either of the two restaurants, so can't comment on quality of either, but swimming pool area was very attractive. Very satisfied with staff, service and room.”

  • Large room.
  • Horrible access. It's on an island. One way on and off in the most congested area of the state.

“Room was huge and easy chair was so far from the TV that I had to sit on bed. Not comfortable. Nice balcony.”

  • Swimming pool, bathroom, balcony.
  • TV, elevator broke, reading light never worked and they did not fix.

“I would not recommend this hotel for leisure travelers like ourselves; TV only came in on a few channels; one of the lights was burned out and they never came and changed it; we like to play board games so it would've been nice; gift shop very poorly product staffed for such a huge hotel; staff was very friendly; they were not crowded and yet we got the parking lot view instead of river; elevator burned out which for a holiday is ok but inconvenient on 4th floor; we dined elsewhere at Stanford's and London Grill (Benson Hotel) because we did not want anything else going wrong. I have been there myself for conventions but never stayed overnight.”

  • Staff was accommodating and friendly.
  • In bad need of a remodel everything was worn and tired. Major water drip from upper floor that filled a 1/2 small garbage can.

  • The shuttle service was awesome.
  • Loud - they were remodeling - it got loud too early.

“The best part of the hotel was the shuttle service. They picked us up and returned us to the airport, took us to and from the light rail train station the next day, and took us to and from dinner. The driver was very courteous and the service made our trip so easy. Our room was a river view corner room - absolutely awesome. Two whole walls were windows. The hotel itself was pretty corporate in its appeal, we were just lucky to have such a nice room. Also, they were remodeling and got started a little too early (7 am) in the room next to us - it was pretty loud for so early. Overall, it was a great experience. The view from our room was awesome and the shuttle service took a lot of the stress out of getting around in a new city.”

  • Large room with good amenities; lots of TV channels.
  • Not well cleaned prior to my arrival.

“This is not a location that is good if you need to be in downtown Portland for meetings in the mid morning. You have to leave by 6 AM to beat the rush traffic. However, it was much quieter than many downtown Lloyd Ctr area hotels. If they would vacuum more thoroughly and clean all sinks, it would have been an excellent stay.”

“Had a good experience. Location was convenient for us. Near the airport, but no airport usual noise. Just passing through and didn't use any of the facilities. Well kept property.”

  • View of river and mount hood.
  • Located long distance from downtown core on tacky island.

“Not a business hotel. Freeway traffic into and out of the city to the island the hotel is located on was horrendous, better to stay in the city. The hotel more interested in large groups for reunion and weddings than individual business travelers since all the best rooms were held for these groups. My hallway was cluttered and dirty the entire two days I was there with chairs, cleaning supplies, dirty laundry containers, vacuums. A large group of party revelers congregated at end of hallway at night with incredible noise. The check in staff was not accommodating and could have cared less about my request for a room with at least some view.”

  • Bad and old mattresses, old pillows and unclean bathroom.

“It was easy to find the hotel from the interstate. The room was spacious, pet friendly and good price. But mattresses and pillows were old and bathroom wasn't clean. The hotel smelled like smoke.”

  • The location was great. My husband and son enjoyed the pool/hot tub. The breakfast menu was wonderful. The food was appropriate for the cost.
  • The cleanliness of the room was well below my standards.

“The location of the hotel was wonderful for the itinerary as my family and I planned. The bath and body works amenities are great. The size of the room was nice. The cleanliness of the hotel was well below 3 star standards. Hence, not worth the price. There was mold in the shower, more hair on the floor than on my husband's head. To add insult to injury, I purposely exposed the dirty blanket in hopes of the lady changing it. Much to my chagrin, she made the bed with the same filthy blanket. I called the front desk and they sent a new blanket. Now that is amazing. I doubt I will spend that amount of money I did to stay at this chain of hotel again.”

  • Very nice staff, nice room, nice business center.
  • The only negative thing was that the lower hallway had a musty smell.

“The staff was very pleasant. The room quite nice. I did not eat at the restaurant but it looked like a nice place as well. Very convenient business center.”

  • Wireless internet.
  • Did not clean our room while we were gone, elevator didn't work properly.

“Did not enjoy this visit. We reported to the desk that water was coming from one of the rooms (our toilet had drips as well) and they were more than not appreciative, just didn't seem to care. The main thing we did not like was that our room was not cleaned while we were gone most of the day. The carpet had green tape covering separations, looked very tacky. Was a let down.”

  • Loved the location.
  • You may want to pass on to Red Lion that I contracted bed bugs while at this hotel and brought back this epidemic to my home. I've had several bites.

“Even though I contracted the bed bugs, this would not make me not stay there again, but the hotel needs to be alerted to that fact.”

  • Very impressive lobby and restaurant.
  • Room was generally quite clean but the carpet was worn and looked like it was covered in cigarette burns.

“This must have been a four star hotel forty years ago but it needs a general updating. The carpet in my room was in very poor shape. The rest of the room was very clean. We were in the East wing and had no problem with traffic noise. The property is right at the end of PDX airport but the airplane noise was not objectionable. The bathroom was huge. Bigger than some hotel rooms I've had. Overall not too bad an experience. Bring slippers.”
