• Ambiance of lounge area; wine tasting.
• Elevator stuck.

“Vintage Plaza granted us a wonderful upgrade, when I added our 6 year old grandson to the mix. We were given a king bedroom with sleeper sofa. The bathroom was very spacious, and the hotel was wonderful quality.”

• Large bathroom.
• No gym, linens and bed were fair.

“Was really looking forward to this hotel because it received a lot of top ratings, but I was disappointed. There were no work out facilities; beds were fair along with linens. Room was dated. Do not believe it should receive 4 stars as I have stayed in three star hotels with much better accommodations. Location was good but will stay the Marriott right next door next time.”

• Great rooms, wonderful customer service.
• Too many doors slamming in the early morning.

“Great location in Downtown Portland. Within walking distance of great restaurants and all the best shops. Very romantic room and excellent customer service. Very dog friendly without any added fees! There was a welcome sign in the lobby for visiting pooches!”

• The location and the staffs. They are very friendly.
• Very small, cramped, no extra space in the lobby, noisy heater and street noises.

“I expected a little bit more for a 4 star but the location might have pushed it to a 4 star. The hotel is cozy but small. If it wasn't for the location, I would probably compare it to a Marriott Courtyard or an Extended Stay type of hotel. There were a lot of street noises and construction noises in the morning which if we were to sleep in, it wouldn't be as pleasant. It is a green hotel so the bath towels were not changed daily until you request it to be. Again, it is just s short walk away from everything so couldn't complain about that. The heater was extremely loud; it woke me up in the middle of the night. It was basically an old hotel with a great location.”

“This boutique hotel has a great quiet location and friendly staff. It has great bed & linens and is very clean. There was free coffee in the a.m. and free wine in the p.m. An excellent place to stay.”

• Room was quiet.
• The valet dented our car and attempted to cover it up.

“Our car was dented by the valet, then when we brought it to their attention, they rudely told us that since it was a Saturday, there was no one that could speak to us about the damage and we would just have to call back sometime later. No offer was made to even document the incident, take pictures etc. until we demanded a different level of service, and the service was then delivered in a rude manner that communicated their disgust that we were holding them accountable to the damage they caused. We are still having difficulty working through this issue with the hotel and their insurance carrier.”

• Valet attendants were friendly.
• Room too small, very dirty, stale snacks, lumpy mattress, pole next to bed to bump into.

“I'm really disappointed in the hotel. I have bruises and a swollen toe from the cramped space. Had reservations for 6 months, massage appointments were messed up and didn't get services. Wouldn't stay there again!”

• Complimentary wine, nice lobby sitting area.
• Not good reading lamps by beds, didn't bring up a bulb when requested.

“This is a nice hotel in a great location downtown. Service was acceptable. The room was a little cramped, with poor lighting. If you like to read in bed, you need to move lamps around. No coffee in the room, however they serve coffee in the lobby, but that means you have to get dressed in the morning to have some.”

• Great staff and services. Location can't be beat in Downtown Portland. Walking distance to everything.
• Hotel could be updated. May be scheduled for face lift in future.

“We always have exceptional service at Vintage Plaza. The staff is the best. Location in great. Also hotel is dog friendly.”

• The ambiance. The piano in the lobby was a great addition with wine and piano for guests. What a great surprise.
• Buses running so early in the morning woke me up.

“Very cool place. I will definitely go back. I liked the feeling of this hotel over others I have stayed at. Although a bit noisy the location was wonderful as was the food at Pazzo the restaurant connected to it.”

• The outstanding restaurant adjacent- Piazzas.
• Nothing.

“Upon check in we were greeted in the lobby with a wine tasting event. It was a perfect way to start our stay. The room was very comfortable. The location was ideal for a morning walk along the waterfront.”

• I liked the Bathroom products such as shampoo and soap.
• The windows were old and leaky. I could hear everything on the street. Including the dump truck at 5am.

“I was disappointed with the hotel. The rooms were Holiday Inn at best. The windows were thin and you could here people in the next room. The mattress was nothing great as was the lobby. I think they should do an upgrade if they want to be a 4 star. The surrounding hotels that were 4 star looked nicer.”

• That they did not clean our room for the two nights that we stayed there and had to call for clean towels and make our beds.

• The restaurant.
• No pool, no hot tub.

“The beds are not very comfortable and the linens were very old. The rooms are cramped and a bit dingy! Not like any four star hotel I have ever been to! A nice boutique hotel but not a four star property by any means.”

• Location, convenience.
• No information about coffee in room, lounge and restaurants were very expensive.

“Hotel was beautiful, quaint, not much information about what was offered in the room. there was no coffee in room only to learn the next day that coffee was in lobby and a coffee pot could be brought to the room. The restaurant and room service times were wrong in the hotel information.”

• Bedding, I liked the interior old world style of the room.
• The bed itself. I prefer pillow top mattresses esp. in a 4 star hotel . No onsite parking.

“Our room was charming and good sized. Bedding was very comfortable although I would have preferred a more comfortable mattress. Everything within the room was in working order. Hotel is in a good location within walking distance to many of the sights in Portland. I would have preferred on-site parking but the valet parking attendants were friendly and quick. We liked the free coffee in the morning and the wine in the evening.”

• Location was excellent, close to Powell's bookstore.
• Lobby felt old as in outdated.
