  • Location close to MAX (public transport) hub and shopping.
  • Parking was expensive.

“Great experience, great location, great facilities. Since there was no pool and the rooms were relatively normal, I don't think it deserved a 3.5 star but it was an excellent 3-star.”

  • Great location, friendly staff, well appointed.
  • It took two calls to get a spill cleaned up from prior visitor.

“The staff was friendly but was not overly attentive staff. They were courteous and very apologetic. Made amends by not charging for upgrade of room.”

  • The staff was very nice.
  • The hotel is pretty run down and looking very old. Mold in spots, stains, ceiling tiles stained. Needs remodeled.

“Good location and nice staff. The hotel is in pretty serious need of remodeling and updating. Looks like it has been 30 years since it was updated.”

  • Excellent location.
  • The pillows felt like they were made of burlap and recycled tires.

“Used to come here as it was a decent place, we could stay with our dog. Not only have they stopped taking pets, but everything else seems to have been downgraded in the last year (pillows, sheets, even the shower head seems like something you can get at Home Depot for 5 bucks).”

“Great, central Portland location.”

  • Mostly location and friendliness.
  • Room was slightly noisy.

“Beds were comfortable, the room was nicely appointed, clean. We would stay here again and would recommend it to friends.”

  • Location
  • Furniture in room was worn, parking was expensive..

“Excellent location, beautiful lobby and facade. Room was noisy but there was construction near the hotel. Chair in room was worn not to be expected in a 4 star hotel. Parking was expensive but usually is in a downtown hotel.”

  • Its loication and the rooms.
  • The staff was nice, but not overly helpful especially with parking.

“The location is great and the rooms are very nice, but be prrepared to find your own parking on the street or in some lot.”

  • I liked the friendly and accommodating staff.

“This hotel was very convenient to most areas of downtown Portland. We were able to walk from this hotel to our favorite restaurants, shops and to Powell's Bookstore. The hotel itself was clean and the staff was friendly.”

  • Classy, convenient and
    comfortable.
  • Bathroom could use a deep cleaning.

“Enjoyed the stay very much. The restaurant was great and the staff was very helpful and friendly.”

  • Elegant, comfortable, friendly and convenient. I liked being there.
  • Valet parking was $28, and I could park overnight and I thought safely on the street for free. Within 100 feet of the hotel. So I did.

“An elegant and comfortable hotel. All expected amenities for this level of hotel met or exceeded. The cost of parking was the problem, but I parked overnight on the street at no cost. Beautiful location in a great place in a beautiful city.”

  • Location was great, free Wi-Fi.
  • Parking was $28 and the valet could not find our car keys on the last day and had to wait for 15 minutes plus to find them.

“We requested for 2 queen beds and were charged additional fee for it.”

  • Location was great for Downtown Portland.
  • I was charged $15 for an extra person – never had this happen before.

“Staff is all about the money. Did not inform me of an extra person charge when I checked in - charged us $15 for the third person in the room.”

  • Location and
    room was nicely furnished.
  • Service was not great. Would feel more welcome at Holiday Inn.

“Nicely furnished and styled hotel in a great downtown Portland location. However, service left a lot to be desired. Upon check-in, I would have received a warmer welcome at a Holiday Inn. The doormen ignored me on two separate occasions as they talked among themselves and I opened the door myself.”

“We got to the hotel and they informed us that there would be an additional charge for a second bed. This was not communicated to us by the operator we talked with after we made our reservation through priceline online.”
