“When we checked in, it was 4 am, and that was the only reason we stayed for one night of our two-day booking. It was hard to find, and the place was dirty. It was unkempt and rundown. Our room was second-floor, with very steep stairs that were dangerous for our toddler, and for us. The room was stinky. It was supposed to be non-smoking, but there was an ashtray on the table. The phone cord was cut, as were other cords (like the hairdryer). The heater/AC had a bearing going out and was too loud to use. We had to have the window open to stand the stench, so we ended up freezing because we couldn't turn on the heat. The bathroom was tiny, and the tub creaked when we took showers. It felt like you would fall through at any moment. This hotel is a flophouse, not even a "one-star" hotel. It's the kind of place that you feel like you need a bleach shower after you check out. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, ever. Not even my worst enemy!”

“This hotel is horrible! The pillows looked like they had been under a truck for a month. The maid left my room door wide open one day so that anyone could have stolen stuff out of my room while I was out. The whole place is run down: the lights are full of bugs or don't work, the tub has mold around the caulking, the curtains and bedspreads are grungy, the towels were torn.”

“this hotel is part of several of those online booking networks, where you usually have to pay the cost of the room up front, then pay the taxes and applicable charges to the hotel. we were only using this hotel as a stopover before driving up the next place.”

“While I expect a 1-star hotel to be short on amenities, I do expect the facility to be safe and clean. This Travelodge was neither clean nor safe. The carpet was sticky. Our non-smoking room had cigarette burn marks on the furniture, drapes, and linens. The mattress was the worst quality I've ever seen. The one pillow was entirely brown--very, very dirty. Thank goodness we had our own linens. The only nice thing about this room was its size. It was a large room. However, the above problems combined with the broken door lock, the loose toilet, and duct-taped battery cover on the remote overshadowed any plus side of this room. I will never opt for a 1-star hotel again as a result of this stay.”
