• The room was large and clean; free parking; good location; quiet; tub & shower; lots of towels.
• No security for ground floor windows; no ice on ground floor; internet access down.

“I had called ahead because I knew I would be early and asked about early check in. He said he would note it and they would accommodate me as early as I could. When I checked in, I obviously irked the woman, as she glared at me and then turned to the person behind me without explanation. My main concern was comfort and quiet. The view was of my car in the parking lot, which I liked because there was no security. But the large window was at ground level & had no security lock or screens, so I was unable to open the window, which I like to do. The internet was down, so there was no place to check email. No complimentary coffee or breakfast of any kind. (2 cup pot in room) Buffet breakfast ($9) barely edible. Food menu in bar was awesome - very good and cheap. Not available in am, though. No info available about Olympia or activities/maps, etc. Outdoor pool was large, although I didn't use it. Lots of towels. No ice on my floor; I had to go up a floor to get any. No fridge in room. This is the best lodging in our state capital. Pitiful.”

• Easy access off interstate and close to shopping and downtown events.
• Pork sausage at breakfast buffet was underdone.

“Good location. Easy access to Interstate 5, the Evergreen State College, a few hours away from coastal towns. Close to shopping, downtown and Lacey, Tumwater, and Fort Lewis. Lush greenery visible from dining room which overlooks Capital Lake.”

• The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!
• There was an odor in the room, once the windows were opened and the room aired out, it was ok.

“It was a very nice hotel and met my expectations. I was very happy with the location and had a great time visiting the area.”

• Great setting of the hotel - hard to find, but set in a quiet setting - worth the 'trouble'.
• Room above a loud ballroom-not too late, though.

“Red lion was in great condition - had remodeled and updated look and feel inside. Friendly and helpful staff and the travel sized soaps/shampoo etc were good quality.”

• I always enjoy pleasant staff and atmosphere as well as general cleanness, this hotel met these requirements.
• The pool did not have adequate towels and I did not like the slow service at the restaurant.

“If the hotel looks into some finer details, it will be a better than average.”

• Could hear noise thru the ceiling and the door to the adjoining room.

• I liked the price, the room was comfortable and the location good for this trip.
• They had only one chair in the room.

“This hotel is a pleasant place to stay. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. It is located in a quiet secluded area and is not that far from extensive shopping and a main freeway leading to other locations.”

• It was nice, clean, comfy.
• Hard to find, evening staff unfriendly, expensive water, movies did not work, etc.

“It was hard to find, we had to drive and re-drive around to find the place. Very small sign out front on main road; could be a city ordinance but hard to place at night. Hotel set far back from road; hard to see. The front desk was stiffly courteous; a bit aloof and stuffy. We were placed on 3rd floor at the far end of the complex, though I asked for a ground floor room. I am visibly disabled; hard for me to move or walk around. Long way to walk for me. We did ask for 2 rooms next to each other so I guess paying beggars cannot be chooser. Very clean rooms. Beds were nice and clean. I have been in nice hotels where they were not. Lots of amenities in the room but at a stiff price; bottled water for $2 minutes. Not all the movies available worked, found out after we agreed to pay. Had to call the desk to get it straightened out, took them over 10 minutes, on hold forever. Excellent check out time, noon! Morning front desk staff was much more pleasant but still took a long time to check me out; may have been slow computers. Gave me a bunch of coupons for some of the local happenings, very nice. Would stay there again if I had too but just not with so high of expectations for the hotel name it has. It was near the Capitol so I think they were not as used to regular paying customers as opposed to the politicians. Cleaning crew were friendly.”

• The room was quite large with a king pillow top bed and lots of pillows very nice.
• A little off the beaten path but well worth it very nice.

“This hotel exceeded what we thought we would get. Would definitely come back! Very comfortable, clean, loved all the pillows!”

• Back lawn like another room to sit in. Rooms were nicely decorated.
• Entry door not lock on north side open all night.

“Very nice rooms we did not have a view from our room but I sat out in the gazebo on the back lawn and read a book while my husband swam in pool. Good location felt like someplace special. I would stay again.”
