Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Convenience to stores, restaurants, and mall.
  • Very small room, too small refrigerator.

“For a suite one traveler, I found the space to be very limited. The refrigerator is small; one item can fit in freezer, no ice machine, no common area. Bedding clean, room not cleaned if your stay was less than 4 days. Staff very friendly and helpful.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[8] • Location:[3]

  • None.
  • The bed sheet was dirty. Had to tell the front desk to change the sheet and it had hair on the sheets?

“More like a motel for a quickie and the cleanliness was poor.”

Overall Rating: 4 Overall user rating
Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[5] • Location:[2]

  • It was clean.
  • Very small, uncomfortable bed.

“This is an express, 1-night stay-style of motel. Bare minimum of in-room amenities. Very small, very Spartan. Difficult to find location, staff was not knowledgeable about a number of things.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[1] • Location:[3]

  • Absolutely nothing.
  • Homophobia.

“I was thoroughly dissatisfied with this hotel. Upon checking in the young man at the counter said, "Hum, you know that like there is like only one like bed, right?" When my partner and I said that that is just fine, he said, "Oh," with his mouth open. He then turned bright red, and then didn't say anything as he stared at us. I had to ask, "Can I please get the key?" I felt horrible about the whole experience, and this hotel should consider training its staff to treat all people with respect. I assume it would be useful given the diverse population I saw in Salem.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[6] • Location:[8]

  • Liked the kitchenette.
  • One double bed for two people.

“We needed to rest our weary heads and for the price, it sufficed.”

Mar 27, 2008 by Lu from Walla Walla, WA

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • The kitchenette and large bathroom.
  • Super hard beds.

“I would not want to stay in this hotel for more than a night--the mattresses seem made out of boards. However, the location is convenient, the kitchenettes are very handy, and the room is clean and good-sized.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • The room was super clean, loved the kitchen!
  • The beds were really hard.

“The room was super-clean, much cleaner than most economy hotels. I loved the kitchenette with dishes, pots & pans, and silverware included. Easy in, easy out.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Very new and clean looking, spacious, free WiFi and cable TV.
  • Hard beds, slow draining sink in bathroom.

“This place was way nicer than I anticipated. Very new looking and very clean. They had toilet paper and towels and everything a nicer hotel offers plus a pretty darn useful kitchen w/fridge, stove, cupboards, pans, plates, a dish drainer and little coffee maker. I was very, very pleased. My bathroom sink was slow on the draining, but it did drain and my bed was way beyond firm, but I survived and felt rested each morning so, no biggie. Very young staff, but very much about service.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • It met all of our expectation, over and above.
  • The pillows must have come from a thrift shop. But hay! Next time we will bring our own pillows. (Smile) no big deal.

“Over all, I and my sweetie were very pleased with our stay and we will return again. I noted that one person was not too pleased with the location in regards to the I-5 freeways. The location is very excellent and the noise level is very low. It is so easy to go to the freeway. A left turn onto fisher rd and straight north. Then one makes two left turns (stop sign & traffic light) and there is the freeway.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[3]

  • The room has a full kitchen with dishes, silverware and pans.
  • Rooms facing the expressway are very noisy all night.

“The motel is good value for what I paid. On my second stay there I requested a room that did not face the expressway and slept much better. The side facing I 5 is very loud. The heaters in the room are also very noisy. But, the kitchen was worth it.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • It was much nicer then we expected and the staff was very friendly.
  • I am unable find anything that was not nice at Crosland.

“My sweetie and I are retired seniors. We are square dancers and we were only one and a half miles from the square dance hall. We both were very pleased with Crosland and if the opportunity comes up again, we would love to stay there again. I do need to point out though, that I do know the city of Salem very well, so location was never a problem with us. Yes, we both were very pleased with all aspects of Crosland.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Location was close to where we were going but a little difficult to find.
  • The bed is very cheap and hard. It sounds like it is a hollow box.

“The looks of the hotel are fine but the odor of the rooms is very strong and I did not like the bed.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[5]

  • The room was very small but clean.
  • It is located in an industrial area; I would not bring my children here.

“Cross lands is an extended stay economy hotel. The studio room we stayed in was very small, but clean. The kitchenette was adequate for our needs. The hotel itself is not in a great part of Salem.”
