“Simply appointed, clean, affordable, and a perfect location halfway between our son's apartment and college. Nice local neighborhood for an early morning autumn walk.”

• The roses outside of rooms.
• The continental breakfast was very poor in selection.

“The pillow cases on the bed were stained. The pool closes to soon in the season. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• I liked the convience to where I was going.
• I did not take shower because it looked bad.

“Its good for overnight stay but I would not recommend taking shower there its not nice looking soap scum and dirt all over it.”

• Bad Mold Smell first Room, 2nd night ants were present.

“The mold smell was overpowering on arrival. I had to move myself and my daughter to another room at the same hotel.”

• The price was great.
• This hotel has an ant problem. There were ants on the bed; we moved to another room that had ants on the bathroom counters.

“Overall, this was an okay place to stay for the price. Even though it is an older hotel they did a very nice job in remodeling it. It was clean and comfortable. The dank odor wasn't too terrible but recommend keeping the cooler on as the room became very stuffy.”

• The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and clean rooms.
• I really can't think do any thing at this moment.

“I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and although it's not a five star hotel it is clean and the staff is very professional. I feel very safe and secure there. There are great eating places around the surrounding neighborhood also.”

• Gave us a crib for our nine month old son.
• Hotel has doors that open to the outside. We did not like that because of security concerns.

“The Salem travel lodge is a good place to stay for short trips. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.”

• Automatic safe fee unless you say otherwise on checkout.

“This is an older motel, but clean and as updated as can be. I can think of no other way to make it nicer. It was better than expected and quiet as well.”

• The bed was good.
• The facility was run down, it was in a bad neighborhood. I have used name "your own price" a lot and this experience makes me leery to do it again.

• Lobby too small, musty smell in room.

“For the apparent age of the motel, it was in generally good repair. The rooms had a musty smell that hits you when you open the door, but otherwise clean and orderly. Bite size breakfast was OK.”

• It was close to downtown
• Staff not at all helpful, they wouldn't take discount coupons, and they added a charge for the safe even if you didn't use it.

“Salem Travelodge is a cheap old hotel with showers only. Nothing fancy. The staff is Asian and doesn't want to help or answer questions. They added a charge for the room safe and wouldn't take it off my bill when asked. We didn't use the safe. My advice: Don't leave anything valuable in the car while there and make sure you settle the bill by 11:00 pm or wait until 7:00 am The hotel is close to downtown. The air conditioner/heater/fan worked well. We won't ever stay there again. A hotel this cheap just isn't worth it.”
