  • Pool is excellent. Location is excellent.
  • Understaffed. Long wait for customer service-- VERY LONG! No real lobby/reception area not inviting.

“Great location.”

  • Location is great! Desk staff very efficient.
  • The long hallways are dark. Rooms, especially the bathroon looks old.

“It was fine. The bathroom especially looked old.The housekeeper did not give us new glasses for the second night but took the initial glasses away. Found papercups so that was okay.”

  • A clean neat and convenient place to stay over night while waiting to board ferry to Victoria.
  • Room was smelly.

“Nice convenient stay to catch the morning ferry to Victoria. Just right across the street and has nice restaurant on sight.”

  • The location of this hotel was amazing.
  • This hotel looks and feels like a cheap hotel.

“It looks and feels like an Econolodge. There was free Wi-Fi, which was extremely nice. It is located on the edge of the Straight of Juan de Fuca and has a great view. The rooms are spacious but the furniture is cheap and nothing special.”

  • location
  • The room could of been cleaner. There was a beer cap that I stepped on and cut my foot!

“We love the location and that it is dog friendly. We wish there was a computer on site for guests to use.”

  • It is very close to the Ferry and parking was cheap to leave it while traveling to Canada.
  • Too expensive for the quality of room.

“Although this hotel is close to the Ferry's that take you to Victoria, BC, it is no way a two star hotel. This is a one star motel that is overpriced. The restaurant at the hotel is equally overpriced and understaffed.”

  • Excellent location - right on the water.
  • Rooms could have been cleaner (particularly the bathroom).

“The Red Lion Hotel is conveniently located next to down town Port Angeles. The location right on the water is excellent. The restaurant located with the hotel is somewhat overpriced. The rooms were generally clean and well-maintained. The bathroom could have used some updating and more thorough cleaning, however.”

  • Clean and updated rooms.
  • Paying for parking.

“The hotel staff was excellent and quite helpful. The accommodations are very clean and updated and there was easy access to the ferries, restaurants and shopping. The hotel is very nice and I'd stay there again if in the area.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • It's on the waterfront.
  • Dirty.

“This place was old and dirty, the bathroom wasn't clean. There was still excrement in the toilet and hair around the base. Just plain nasty. I can't believe this is considered a 3 star hotel.”

  • Knew the area & hotel & it exceeded my expectations. Staff was helpful & friendly. Loved the location. Loved the view! Highly recommend!
  • It was a bet of a hassle to friends to get in because of parking attendant and locked doors. Some mold in the bathroom.

“Hotel located in scenic Port Angeles. The staff was friendly, informative and accommodating. Rooms were nice. Water & mountain view on 1 side and mountains on the other. Well maintained waterfront walking/biking path. Location was great for any activity. Marine lab, beach & all downtown are right there.”

  • The rooms with the view were hands down the very best! Worth every penny.
  • Rooms without view not so great even not as well appointed.

“Hotel, you must get the rooms with the view. The exercise room was small but had good equipment. The pool area was nice al bit noisy with all the kids around. Cannot say enough about the view and walking path.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Proximity to water.
  • Not enough power outlets in room.

“Our stay here was pretty pleasant overall. We upgraded to a water view room for $20 which we both felt was worth the cost. I would have enjoyed the room more if we had been further away from the dock/beach area which can be a little noisy and the view in that direction is not that great. If you enjoy people watching from your balcony the rooms closer to the dock are probably good. We had a 2nd floor room and we were not able to find an elevator. There may be one somewhere because we didn't search much. You may want to check on that if you are not able to carry all the luggage up a flight of stairs like we did.”

  • The view was wonderful watching ships come and go.
  • The railing was a bit loose.

“We loved the view and the festival with it is live music (we could hear from our deck). I brought my senior citizen mother along and she stayed on the deck for hours watching the ships come and go.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[6] • Location:[7]

  • Location.
  • Room slanted towards door.

“Friendly staff at check in. Location right on the waterfront. Close to ferry terminals and city center. The room was slightly slanted, felt like downhill towards door. Very noisy from room above, could hear people walking creaking floors at night. Parking was free and very accessible. Rooms and hotel in general need updating.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • It was close to the town I was visiting.
  • It was overpriced. They took advantage of the customers.

“I believe the hotel was overpriced due to demand for hotel rooms during the time that I was visiting.”
