  • I enjoyed
the staff. I was upgraded from my original room which made me so happy. Thank You Queen Kapiolani.
  • The shower heads were as tall as I was. A little difficult taking a shower.

“The hotel is a beautiful one. Great for the price you pay, and in an excellent location.”

  • It was near the beach and shopping areas.
  • It looks old and the parking was really bad.

“The hotel could use some new paint and a little TLC. It is located near the beach and the major shopping areas. If you rent a car make it small because the parking spaces at the hotel are really small and hard to get out of. Also eat somewhere else the food at the hotel restaurant was really bad.”

  • Location and price.
  • Restaurant was disappointment.

“Hotel is dated but good value . We asked for a double bed and were given a corner room .Pool is small but good sun and nice overview of park.”

  • Close to Diamond Head Crater and the beach.
  • Run down, needs renovation.

“Since we did not use it for the beach I can not comment on that. But it is within 10 minutes of Diamon Head Crater on a bus, and the bus stop is right next to the hotel. The hotel needs renovation, it does feel run down.”

  • Great location, room was very adequate, clean rooms.
  • Bed could have been newer.

“The hotel couldn't have been in a better location. There is a good restaurant with extremely reasonable prices. The hotel was probably luxurious in its day, but was somewhat rundown. The room and bathroom were very clean but the mattress was somewhat dated.”

  • Very close to the beach and the Honolulu Zoo.
  • Tiny room with 2 twin beds - not romantic

“We checked in fairly early in the day and asked for a room with at least a double bed. The staff told us that there were no rooms available with anything larger than twins. The room was the tiniest I have ever seen, but on the plus side, did have a mini-frig and a view of the ocean and pool area.”

  • Location. You can walk to everything!
  • In need of a major renovation.

“We needed an overnight location before connecting with an inter island flight to Kauai and found this budget hotel on the internet. Although an older property, it was comfortable and clean. The staff was especially helpful and very friendly. The location was great. We avoided renting a car and used a round trip shuttle to travel to/from the airport. This also avoided having to pay for parking. With everything within walking distance and plenty of cheap (and sometimes free) ground transportation, we didn't need it. The hotel has seen better days but for an overnight stay was fine. We mixed in well with the locals who were attending a hula contest nearby. They had an impromptu sing-a-long in the lobby with some locals who entertained us until the wee hours. We even had our dinner in the hotel restaurant for a very reasonable price. I would not expect to spend several days there as there are other properties nearby with better facilities and amenities but for an overnight stay, it was great.”

  • Enjoyed the view of city from my room.
  • Older hotel and a bit run down.

“ Queen Kapolei Hotel is walking distance to the beach, the zoo, the aquarium and the Waikiki beach strand. Location is easy to get to. Staff was professional; hotel is older and run down, but reasonably clean. The view of the city from my room was great.

  • Good location. room cleaning people were nice.
  • Expensive and small parking.

“Hotel was in a very convenient location in waikiki. All of the staff was nice and friendly. Room was in great shape and roomy enough for our small family for 5 days. Only con we experienced was with the parking at 15 dollars a day and very tight and cramped.”

  • Price, location and this is only tolerable for short stays.
  • The noise in the streets was loud and the trucks. Needs renovations badly!

“I was very annoyed at check in to learn they charge $15 per day for parking. The parking garage is small and aggravating. We nearly didn't find parking. The elevators are slow. Rooms really need renovations and our lock didn't even work. The street noise, dump trucks and overall sleeping was horrible even with ear plugs and a pillow over your head. They charge if you use the coffee in the room and nickel and dime you. I would not tell anyone to stay here unless it's short term.”

  • Easy street access and very close to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Interesting decor.
  • Hotel staff wasn't very friendly.

“Overall, great place to stay. Clean and tidy. Central to pretty much everything--the beach, shopping, restaurants, the bus stop, etc. There are movies on the beach right down the street and the shell is right across the street so if you don't have tickets to the concert, you can listen to the music at the park which is just outside the arena.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[5] • Location:[9]

  • Good location.
  • Front desk staff not friendly. Old rooms.

“This hotel was good in comparison to the other hotels we stayed at while traveling throughout the different Hawaiian islands. It has a good location and was really convenient for us to walk outside and down the block to get to Waikiki beach or down the street to the beach front shops and restaurants. The only complain I have is that upon arrival, the front desk staff was really unfriendly and rude. Our room looked old, and the sheets looked like they've seen better days. Our air conditioner leaked out onto the lanai and our TV and refrigerator were only usable after a little fiddling with the switches in the back. Overall, this was a good hotel if you're not too picky about the hotel and room, and don't plan to spend much time there.”

  • Friendly staff and good location.
  • Very dirty and outdated. Noisy, hot, and crowded rooms.

“I would not recommend this hotel. It was dirty and outdated. Our room was hot and cramped. The bathroom was dirty and dingy. Disgusting. This was a terrible experience and way too expensive a hotel for the accommodations.”

“The hotel was in a great part of the city. It was very close to the beach and shopping areas. The hotel itself was very clean and nice. The rooms was small and the shower/bath was horrible. I am 6ft tall and the shower head came up to my neck.”
