“The hotel is a beautiful one. Great for the price you pay, and in an excellent location.”

“The hotel could use some new paint and a little TLC. It is located near the beach and the major shopping areas. If you rent a car make it small because the parking spaces at the hotel are really small and hard to get out of. Also eat somewhere else the food at the hotel restaurant was really bad.”

“Since we did not use it for the beach I can not comment on that. But it is within 10 minutes of Diamon Head Crater on a bus, and the bus stop is right next to the hotel. The hotel needs renovation, it does feel run down.”

“The hotel couldn't have been in a better location. There is a good restaurant with extremely reasonable prices. The hotel was probably luxurious in its day, but was somewhat rundown. The room and bathroom were very clean but the mattress was somewhat dated.”

“We checked in fairly early in the day and asked for a room with at least a double bed. The staff told us that there were no rooms available with anything larger than twins. The room was the tiniest I have ever seen, but on the plus side, did have a mini-frig and a view of the ocean and pool area.”

“We needed an overnight location before connecting with an inter island flight to Kauai and found this budget hotel on the internet. Although an older property, it was comfortable and clean. The staff was especially helpful and very friendly. The location was great. We avoided renting a car and used a round trip shuttle to travel to/from the airport. This also avoided having to pay for parking. With everything within walking distance and plenty of cheap (and sometimes free) ground transportation, we didn't need it. The hotel has seen better days but for an overnight stay was fine. We mixed in well with the locals who were attending a hula contest nearby. They had an impromptu sing-a-long in the lobby with some locals who entertained us until the wee hours. We even had our dinner in the hotel restaurant for a very reasonable price. I would not expect to spend several days there as there are other properties nearby with better facilities and amenities but for an overnight stay, it was great.”

“
Queen Kapolei Hotel is walking distance to the beach, the zoo, the aquarium and the Waikiki beach strand. Location is easy to get to. Staff was professional; hotel is older and run down, but reasonably clean. The view of the city from my room was great.

“Hotel was in a very convenient location in waikiki. All of the staff was nice and friendly. Room was in great shape and roomy enough for our small family for 5 days. Only con we experienced was with the parking at 15 dollars a day and very tight and cramped.”

“I was very annoyed at check in to learn they charge $15 per day for parking. The parking garage is small and aggravating. We nearly didn't find parking. The elevators are slow. Rooms really need renovations and our lock didn't even work. The street noise, dump trucks and overall sleeping was horrible even with ear plugs and a pillow over your head. They charge if you use the coffee in the room and nickel and dime you. I would not tell anyone to stay here unless it's short term.”

“Overall, great place to stay. Clean and tidy. Central to pretty much everything--the beach, shopping, restaurants, the bus stop, etc. There are movies on the beach right down the street and the shell is right across the street so if you don't have tickets to the concert, you can listen to the music at the park which is just outside the arena.”

“This hotel was good in comparison to the other hotels we stayed at while traveling throughout the different Hawaiian islands. It has a good location and was really convenient for us to walk outside and down the block to get to Waikiki beach or down the street to the beach front shops and restaurants. The only complain I have is that upon arrival, the front desk staff was really unfriendly and rude. Our room looked old, and the sheets looked like they've seen better days. Our air conditioner leaked out onto the lanai and our TV and refrigerator were only usable after a little fiddling with the switches in the back. Overall, this was a good hotel if you're not too picky about the hotel and room, and don't plan to spend much time there.”

“I would not recommend this hotel. It was dirty and outdated. Our room was hot and cramped. The bathroom was dirty and dingy. Disgusting. This was a terrible experience and way too expensive a hotel for the accommodations.”

“The hotel was in a great part of the city. It was very close to the beach and shopping areas. The hotel itself was very clean and nice. The rooms was small and the shower/bath was horrible. I am 6ft tall and the shower head came up to my neck.”

“Good place to stay for a budget traveler, definitely not a luxury hotel. Bathroom in my room was recently updated and A/C worked great.”
