“Hotel was adequate, except bathroom. Amenities were few, pool was a pain to get to and from. Room did have a lovely chaise for extra seating and housekeeping staff was quite attentive, going out of the way to respond to special requests, and assistance. Nice location as far as going to beach, etc.”

“Great hotel for the price. The staff was very helpful. My room had a great view of the city as well as the ocean. The location was great.”

“I like the Ohana East at 150 Kaiulani Avenue in Honolulu for its location. I would rate the hotel higher, but the mattress is very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs and I ended up with a nasty back ache after four nights, (I am still suffering now and I have been home now for three days). If you have ever stayed at Doubletree Hotel, Hyatt, or Marriott, you know what a comfortable mattress is. Ohana East should upgrade their beds or, at the very least, invest in a quality mattress cover. I was a little disappointed with the business center which only consists of two computers with a shared printer, I almost lost an important letter I had been writing because I couldn't print it out and I was on hold with tech support for over 45 minutes and still no one picked up the phone, so I gave up. Luckily I was able to print out my letter after opening and closing the paper drawer (don't ask me how that fixed the problem, but it did). The hotel does not have anyone on hand to service the needs of the business center. However, the desk staff is friendly and helpful with directions etc. The restaurant attached to the hotel is called Keonis and is Hawaiian romantic & quite nice. Good selection of food. but the service is very slow. The food is very minimal portions. If you want cereal better buy two boxes as one box is very tiny. I discovered the Food land across the street and found it a better deal to purchase groceries and put them in the room refrigerator. The room does have a safe too which is convenience when you want to go swimming. I may stay at the Ohana East again, but I would definitely request an upgraded mattress if they have one. Maybe some rooms are equipped. I hope so. Hope this review helps you with your decision to stay here or not.”

“If you need a place to stay for a couple of nights this is the place. If you need a hotel for a vacation to rest and relax this is NOT the place.”

“We were impressed especially with the helpfulness of the front desk staff. They went over and above in trying to make us comfortable and welcome.”

“This hotel was equivalent to any Holiday Inn or other moderately priced business class hotel. The staff were helpful. The location is convenient for Waikiki. The Ohana chain is locally owned and well respected in Hawaii.”

“Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Could stand to have update furnishings but, but still well equipped. Great location across from Waikiki beach access, upscale shopping and several beachfront restaurants. Bathroom a little small. Nice to have a kitchenette.”

“Comfortable hotel with a great location. If you are a leisure traveler with a family this hotel will accommodate you nicely. The rooms are spacious and most have in room fridges. We were able to upgrade to a larger room for a nominal fee. Daily maid service was less then average. We found sand in our bed several nights in a row and the counters and showers were not wiped down daily.”

“The Ohana East Hotel is in a great location right in the action on Kuhio in Waikiki. It's about a block from Kalakahua and the International Marketplace and about 2 blocks from the beach. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, but there tends to be a bunch of kids who seem to be spring breakers all over the hotel. We requested a room change due to noise and the staff accommodated our request expeditiously. Overall good stay!”

“It was a nicer hotel than I expected, clean and nice accommodations. Good location with convenient food and shopping near by. Bed was very hard, shower was clogged and check in clerk was rude, but overall experience was good.”

“From the moment we drove up to the front the bellman ignored us and just polished his cart while chatting with a co worker or friend. The room is small with a tiny little bathroom with a tiny shower we could hardly move in. The towels were small and only two. The screaming crying babies next door with the arguing man went on for hours even when we called the front desk to complain. Just to get decent nights sleep and be more comfortable.”

“There was a great location and very clean. The staff was great and it was just what we needed. The Bathroom was small for a 3-star that's why I would give it 2.5. Over all a good place to Stay near the beach.”

“The hotel was what I expected in Waikiki. It was a little on the older side, but it was ok given the age of the hotel. The location was excellent, the staff was very helpful. The shower at this hotel is very small, and there are no ice machines on every floor, you have to come down to the lobby. There really isnt a view from the room as well, but I wasnt expecting one for the price. Had a very good experience at this hotel though.”

“The hotel staff was friendly and the room was clean. And we had ants. The pillows were too high and my husband and I were unable to sleep well. Also the rooms are not soundproof. However, I feel that I cannot complain too much, the price was right.”

“When I called to ask for 3 rooms on the same floor the staff was initially cool and would not make any "promises." When we got their and met them they did warm up and we eventually got our request. Unless you really don't mind a small room with one bed, don't bother with the kitchenette rooms. By going to a standard room, all you sacrifice is the microwave. The beds and sheets were very nice. The floors were clean. Having a fridge was very nice. The pool is nice but in the shade of the hotel on 4 sides, so not fun for lying out. The restaurant on the sidewalk level is great for breakfast. We didn't get to try another meal there. There is a great grocery store (the pantry) and bakery closes by. Try the freshly made cream puffs at the pantry! Wow! Be aware that traffic in Waikiki is extremely heavy at all times. Getting in and out of there by car takes time and patience. Street signs could be a lot better too. We ran to Costco the 1st day and bought a GPS unit!”
