• It's location.
• Tile floors in room, bathtub not clean, accessories no available.

“For the price, the hotel is well located. There was nothing in the room or the facilities to talk about other than the halls and elevators were in good condition. The staff was poorly trained taking more than an hour to get checked into a clean room. Things in the room where not available as they should have been, no remote, no coffee filters, no frying pan, minimal utensils. I don't know if there are cheaper hotels in Waikiki.”

“My room was small yet comfortable with a kitchen and a nice view. The staff was friendly and provided helpful information on places to go. I would recommend this hotel to friends.”

• Lack of parking.

“Nice, clean, enough room to sleep 4 at a good price. a good value and well run hotel. I would recommend it to others who are looking for a good location at one-third the price of a beach front expensive hotel in Waikiki.”

• Poorly maintained bathroom/room, old, peeling paint, unnoticing.

“Friendly and helpful concierges, but hotel needs upgrade really bad! Hotel room/bathroom looks more like a cheap motel room. However, good location from Waikiki Beach and good view of an adjacent lake. Price of overnight stay should have been a little cheaper than what I paid for.”

• Friendly staff, continental breakfast, inexpensive.
• No iron in room.

“For the price this hotel is hard to beat. It is three or four blocks from the beach and within walking distance of anywhere in Waikiki. The breakfast was a plus, considering most hotels in the area do not offer one. There was an iron available at the front desk. The desk workers were very helpful. In the mornings there is someone there specifically to help you arrange small trips, cruises, rental cars, etc. and was very knowledgeable about tourist attractions. This hotel does have a small pool and (not free) off street parking if you need it.”

• They say they only have rooms with one bed.

“This is a very tired and slightly run down hotel with a snippy front desk staff, at least in the evening of my one night stay. It feels dirty, discolored grout and gunk in bathroom corners.”

• The desk staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions.

“A nice place off the beaten path. Waikiki is a relatively short walk. I enjoyed running each morning on the walkway along the canal.”

• Inexpensive, good view overlooking canal, close to Waikiki, small kitchen with refrig & microwave.
• No parking lot.

“Older quaint hotel overlooking Ala Wai canal, two blocks from Waikiki beach, Int'l Market Place. Pleasant walk to Ala Moana Mall. Pleasantly surprised with kitchenette. Fridge, microwave, stove, plates, cups, glasses and silverware came in handy when we wanted to eat in. Free continental breakfast every am. Internet access in lobby @ 15 cents per min. No parking garage but valet parking available 9.00 per day, no limit to no. Times you request your car. Although, rooms were no as impressive as the high price spread, it was clean and comfortable. At $70/day this was a bargain. Would definitely return to hits hotel next time.”

• Coffee available around the clock. Marble floors throughout the hotel.
• Ants in kitchen.

“The hotel was rightly priced with a great city view from the sixth floor. The continental breakfast is definitely not for individuals with a large appetite, no pile-it-up buffet. Staff was friendly, stored luggage on our last day so we could take in a few sites before our evening departure back to the mainland. Sensational experience.”

“We recently stayed at the Aston Coconut Plaza Hotel on Oahu in Waikiki. We were so disappointed..... There were people smoking pot in the room next to us and nothing was done about it... We were first put in a crappy room with a view of the parking lot.”

• Had hot water for shower.
• Room/bath appeared dirty and dingy.

“Hall, room and bath appeared dirty and dingy. Walls needed to be painted/cleaned. Floors consisted of very old tiles that appeared very dirty on initial examination but may just have been very stained. Wore socks to bed as I refused to walk on the tiles without.”
