• It took a long time for the clerk to check us in.

“We arrived at 12 am and it took a long time for the clerk to check us in and we were very tired. I haven't stayed here in a while and I have to say that the renovations are really nice.”

• Loud noises until 3 am.

• The location was great.
• The room was dirty common in Waikiki.

“This hotel has a great location, very near to dining, shopping, and the beach. The rooms are good size but the floors were extremely dirty. Great value for the price, but not the nicest hotel in the area.”

• Right next door to the International Market Place.
• My room was close to the elevator and I could hear the elevator noise and bell.

“I actually had two reservations at the Beachcomber one week apart. The second reservation I got moved to Shana East sister hotel which was a nicer room. The Beachcomber paid my taxi fare to the other hotel as I was not notified in time. I found both places to be very friendly and helpful and decent places to stay.”

• Good location, friendly and clean.
• Somewhat tired looking (70s décor).

“Right on the main drag among several other high rise hotels. A car is optional. Tastes run to older clientele.”

• Great location and great staff.
• Did not appreciate the pay for parking on the hotel property.

“Hotel was in the center of town, within short walking distance to the beach. Short walking distance to numerous restaurants. Just what we were looking for at a most reasonable price. The desk clerk Shawn bent over backward to make our stay pleasant.”

• Large rooms for Hawaii.
• Air Conditioning noisy. Fan did not stay on when compressor went on and off.

“Great location in the heart of Waikiki. Very large rooms by Waikiki standards. I really missed FOX NEWS CHANNEL.”

• The location was incredible for the beach and shopping.
• If the walls were any thinner I think you could see through them.

“The hotel was pretty nice. We got two rooms and they were 12 floors apart, but on Saturday night they were both really noisy, which probably goes with being in Waikiki. Sunday night was much quieter. The rooms were well maintained and the cleaning staff was great. The beach was a block away and amazing.”

• The hotel is in a central location. It is well maintained.
• I don't like Waikiki - but if you're there or need to be there; the Beachcomber is a great deal.

• If you like to shop, the location is right next door to the outdoor vendors
• No lobby music to give the feel of Hawaii. Elevators always crowded.

“The room was very small. Ironing board, but no iron. You had to sign it out for a limited amount of time per day. No music in lobby like most hotels, to give you that hawaiian ambiance. The staff weren't very informative when we checked in. Just gave us the room key and that was it. A little friendliness like: The ice machine is on the 2nd floor, the pool is open til 7:00, and the elevators are to your right, your on floor 15, etc. All would have been appreciated.But you get what you pay for and all in all, it's not a bad place to stay since your only using the room to sleep. But if you plan on spending a lot of time at the beach, a closer location to the water would have been nicer. Also the morning buffet was way overpriced at $12.95 per person. It was cheaper to eat someplace else.”

• The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. The room was clean.
• The parking was very limited, and the staff were not very friendly.

“This hotel was a very good value. If you want to be in Waikiki, and in short walking distance to the beach - it is perfect. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean the room and hotel was. The parking fee was reasonable, but the spaces are extremely limited. The parking situation was very frustrating. But, overall my 6-day stay was a very pleasant experience.”

• Front Desk staff were helpful
• Inconsistent parking information from lot attendants; room looked drab with no view at all!

“Convenient location in Waikiki, but parking isn't that great. Paid a cheap rate for the room so I guess we got what we paid for. Would rather pay a little bit more and stay at the Pagoda Hotel instead.”

• Great location. Easily accessible to restaurants and beach.
• Room ;overlooked construction site. No coffee maker in room.

“Great for the price. No coffee maker. If you wanted an iron, you had to call for it and return it within a few hours. Just ironing board in room. View of room overlooked construction site.”

“The hotel is on the major street in Waikiki with excellent shops and great restaurants. The room was exceptionally well and the staff was courteous. Beach was a short distance away.”
