“Do not stay at this hotel. Horrible staff everyone seems clueless. Our first night there our car was broken into, come to find out the security guard was sleeping and had no clue how it happened. Not to mention this was in their parking garage that we paid for. Your better off staying in the street or sleeping at the local shelter. Absolute dump.”

“This hotel has fallen victim to its location adjacent (and I mean close) to three tiers of traffic carrying large volumes of vehicles into Honolulu and from the airport. The staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous, which although did not make up for lack of sleep, made the short stay bearable. If I were forced by lack of alternatives to stay at the Plaza again, I would insist on a room far from the traffic.”

“We arrived at 1am in the morning and the desk person really couldn't be bothered with anything. We called earlier in the day asking for a crip and we were told to ask when we got there. We asked and were called about 10 minutes later to say it would be 20 minutes at least before it would get to our room. With a 5 month old at 1am waiting was not an option. Because she didn't sleep well we left the room after about 5 hours of being there. Certainly not worth the money we paid.”

“For an airport hotel, it was good. The food was good in the restaurant and the staff was friendly and helpful.”

“Unless there is absolutely no other location that can accommodate you, do not stay at this hotel. Hotel is a stretch. It should be motel. The staff was not friendly - Where was their Aloha spirit? The rooms were in dis-repair and dirty. This is not the way to begin your beautiful Hawaiian vacation.”

“Okay for an overnighter if making a connecting flight as it is close to the airport. Has hotel-airport shuttle service. Cost a little too high for the size of the room.”

“I like staying at the plaza for the reason its close to the airport, and they provide the shuttle too and from the airport as well. The pool is nice to relax in after a long day as well. And the fir/sat seafood buffet is with out a doubt one of the better events of the time I spent in Hawaii.”

“Physically, the hotel was definitely satisfactory. I was grateful to finally have somewhere to rest my weary head after many hours traveling from Canada. I do understand that it is expensive in Hawaii, and of course a hotel close to the airport costs more than one that is not. I was impressed with the shuttle service, as it was prompt, and the driver was very courteous. He was also very helpful with luggage. However, there were many people arriving at the hotel at once, and we queued up for approximately 15 minutes just to get a room key, because there was only one staff member serving. I saw two other staff members around who could have pitched in but didn¿t. Honolulu was simply an overnight stopover for me, so I literally spent only six hours in that hotel. To me, that's a very expensive short sleep and shower. Perhaps there's a way to bring the cost down for others like me who are only staying a very short time, and not utilizing all the other services (meals, etc.) For example, it was too early for me when I left the hotel to take advantage of the breakfast that was provided. Thank you.”

“With the exception of the shuttle driver/bell man, the employees were not helpful and at times rude. The overall cleanliness of the room was what I would consider substandard, and there were not enough towels for the three people that were in the room (having paid for extra occupancy this should have been addressed at check in). I can say that the best thing about this hotel was that I only had to stay 1 night.”

“This is by far the worst HOTEL I have ever seen would not rate high as a motel either. Most of staff was rude had no desire to help. Room was booked to be non smoking yet I got a Smoking room. Ads Lied about Internet Connectivity as did staff when making reservation. Place is Not kept to standard. Too much Noise, H1, Airport and Window air conditioner. This place cost way more than it should have considering the Accommodations offered. Pool is tiny and has no life guard. No fridge or microwave in room. Photographs on web site lie. ”

“The staff are very unfriendly almost rude. you feel very unwelcome and as if they could care less.No porters to help with bags. It is very near airport but miles from beach and other attractions. It is a $20.00 taxi ride one way or a $4.00 bus ride that takes 1 hour to get to wakikia beach. They have a free shuttle but will only take you to and from airport. Hotel is clean and in good repair but very old. Its about cheapest in Honolua.”

“The Best Western The Plaza Hotel name is a little deceiving. While the room was acceptable it wasn't quite what I would expect from the Best Western name. I would say it was closer to a nice Motel 6 etc. The room was clean but smelled musty when I walked in, I think this is from them leaving the air con down when unoccupied, after a few minutes of air it wasn't bad. The hotel sits in an industrial area so it doesn't really lend itself to an enjoyable evening walk. It sits right under a large freeway interchange but the room seemed to be reasonably soundproofed as I didn't really hear any freeway noise. The best discovery for me was Byron's Drive-In next door. Great burgers and breakfast, I would highly recommend the pancake sandwich for breakfast! Restaurant has limited hours so I can't report on that, I didn't use the pool either but it looked nice. I would say for a one night stay while in transit to elsewhere it is worth the money, but I wouldn't stay there for anything else.”
