• Beachside location, great surfing/snorkeling beach, lush landscaping.
• No a/c and consequent noise from outside (not that bad in our unit).

“We did a lot of research before picking this resort in this area. We loved our unit in bldg. 36, not for its furnishings which were adequate, but for the privacy and the beautiful landscaping. We had no ocean view, but the beach was just a short walk away. We at in the restaurant on property one day (overpriced), but preferred staying in, eating on our lanai. The grill was conveniently located just outside under a gigantic tree. The surf break a little ways off shore in early June was great almost daily, and the snorkeling right there wasn't bad either. The staff in the office (castle resorts) was not particularly friendly, but the landscaping staff was wonderful and happy to share their knowledge of the island. Also, be sure to rent snorkeling/surfing gear from kilo right across the street - he's exactly what I expected from the locals - cheerful and helpful. There's a fairly long drive from the main hwy. To get in and out of the Koloa area, but what a beautiful drive through the tunnel of trees! We plan to return and request our favorite unit.”

• Bad traffic in and out of entrance, overpriced.

• It is full furnished (including all kitchenware) and has large space, nice yard.
• The bathroom was not cleaned everyday.

“Overall, I like the hotel very much because it has such a big space which is not in my expectation. It has living room, kitchen, and bed room. It also has all kinds of kitchenware by which we can cook something instead of eating outside all the time. ”

• Near beautiful beaches on south shore of Kauai
• No air conditioning, roosters crowing all night

“This well-equipped "condo" room was part of a huge resort with beach access on the south shore of Kauai near Poipu Beach (rated by the Travel Channel as a top ten in the world). It was a little tricky to find the check-in desk after dark, but the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Second floor accommodations, no elevator. No air conditioning which meant noise from neighbors (and roosters), but nice breezes, adequate ceiling fans, private back balcony. Would recommend.”

• Beautiful , well kept grounds and gardens with mature trees, a nice beach and a great location in Poipu.
• Did not have a pool or refreshments (bar or grill) available on the grounds near the beach.

• The hotel is located on Kuaui, which is a very nice island.
• Overpriced, over-rated, amenities (pool, restaurant, etc.) are offsite (they have a share agreement with other hotels). No internet or gym access.

“The hotel was nice, but clearly over-rated. It had the quality of a 2 star hotel. The amentities it lists are provided offsite (they have a share agreement with other hotels). The staff was not very helpful with identifying activities on the island. The rooms were clean, quiet, and nice, but not even close to being worth what this hotel charges.”

“The condominiums were very nice. However, I failed to notice prior to booking the hotel room that it had no air conditioning, only ceiling fans. That's my only gripe. Otherwise, my vacation there was excellent.”

“I expected that the hotel would be air conditioned especially since the temperatures are excessively high in Kauai, Hawaii. The condo was extremely beautiful and very comfortable otherwise.”
