Singapore - Behold! Shop and Eat till you drop!

This is a famous road known to many foreigners as the heart of Singapore. So why is this road that famous. Nope, it is not filled with flowers or anything similar to that. If you are looking for some flowers, visit the Botanical Gardens.

In Singapore, Singaporeans are known for their ability to consume food at every hour and minute if given the luxury. They eat, shop and do window shopping throughout the weekends and even late into the nights during the holiday seasons. So where do they go, well, to the shopping malls and shops that flank the 2 sides of orchard road.

In the evenings, the brightly lit buildings light up the night sky above with a reddish fade color that spans across miles across the dark sky. A beautiful sight to be amazed.

And if it happens to be special occassion like the chinese new year or even christmas, the entire street is decorated with fantastic colors. The latest decor happens to be white and blue sparkling lights in orchard road during Christmas.

Shopping centres also have competition for the best decorated building in Singapore. Check them out.

Unlike shopping malls that closes as early as 5:00pm in US and many countries, the shops and boutiques here challenges and outsmart each other by opening till 10pm and sometime till midnight. There are midnight madness sales especially during the holiday seasons.

Let's not leave out the best part. FOOD! You can't walk 1/2 a mile without a food store or fast food in sight. Talk about food. Singapore has one of the best variety of food available. Just drop in one of the big shopping malls and you will find fast food chains, japanese food, chinese food, korean food, etc. You name it, they have it. If you think you don't see any food to your liking, think again, your mouth will drool with saliva just by smelling the fragrance from the cooking pans.

Singapore has the best food that is available. And it has a "shop till you drop" kind of slogan that really makes your blood pump for more. Check out my future write ups on the different types of food that makes Singapore a food heaven.

Tips and Recommendations:

Great Food and you get to shop late till midnight if it happens to be the holiday season.

I agree with you a 100%. I was there this May and had a great time. We stayed at Duxton Hotel located at Tanjong Pagar.

I really love the MRT - my fiancee and I learnt how to ride that really quickly - it is so efficient, fast and cheap getting from one end (almost) of the island to another.

Of course we enjoyed the food - fish porridge, we even found a Chinese coffee shop which has been in opeartion since 1944 and made their own kaya (asian jam). We had kaya on toast and loved it!!!

Places worth visiting in Singapore - Singapore has a GREAT bird park. The Night Safari is also worthwhile - especially for kids.
