- The ability to explore freely and rediscover history.
- If you are on foot it is quite a climb to the fort but good exercise.
“The Citadel is a great visit with a lot of freedom to wander where you like that also has a fantastic museum showcasing the weaponry of war. We spent about 4 hours moving through the place and enjoyed the noon gun firing which is best appreciated if you are the 20 or so feet away from it that you can get during the firing. Seeing it from the bus platform below is just not the same ... oh and don't bother trying to get a photo of it firing, you never will be able to pull it off. I would consider this the prime historic site to visit in the city although some of the other battlements outside of town are fascinating as well (although perhaps more to the military minded than a less interested spouse). Watch your footing though. A twisted ankle is a distinct possibility.”
