Paddlewheel River Rouge Tours
Aug 17, 2006 by Kevin from Winnipeg
Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Nice clean boat.
  • Limited seating outside, no commentary, menu needs a big improvement.

“My son a I recently went on the paddle wheel, the boat ride was alright if you just like looking at the water and trees, because that's all you see in the middle of summer is the tree line full of trees. the menu for our meal was about the worst menu available. they have 8 meals on the menu for dinner and all being large portions of only fish and steak. I had asked for a salad and they had told me they did not have salad, but then they were serving salads to those who had ordered the big meals? So your out of luck if you like to eat healthy or a vegetarian. My son's ten and even he was board of looking at the tree line after the first half hour, with no commentary of any kind you have no idea where you are or anything about what your looking at when something pops out of the tree line. save the $20.0 - $30.00 dollar priced meal and head for a limited open seat at the front of the boat so you can at least catch the fresh air and have a nice view of the tree line with the odd house that pops out from time to time.”

Manitoba Legislative Building
Aug 9, 2006 by Norman from Winnipeg
Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5

  • The "Grounds" are beautiful.
  • But there is not nearly enough seats for visitors, other than at the grounds at the rear exit.

“The problem is, that there are not enough benches throughout the legislature grounds area, especially in shaded locations. Most of the sparse number of benches which were previously located on the legislatures grassy areas have been removed Those remaining are of poor construction and are in a bad state of repair, some are even dangerous. The serviceable benches on the south side of the building, as well as those on the promenade, are all located in areas without shade, therefore, are unsuitable for people with a low tolerance to sun exposure. It is inexcusable for such a wonderful location to be so devoid of places for members of the public to sit. If we are to encourage more tourism in the city, those responsible should be ever in touch with not only the needs of local citizens, but with visitors to our city who are likely to wander about our downtown places of interest without having to compete with other weary wanderers for the single seat located at the west side of the legislature building.”
