Northway Lanes
Sep 11, 2009 by Sally from Spring Lake
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Non-smoking bowling at Northway Lanes is the only way we'll bowl.
  • We wish it was closer to our home.

“I take my kids bowling 2 or 3 times a year and I finally found a bowling alley where it doesn't reek of smoke! We went to Northway Lanes in Muskegon and they have non-smoking bowling all day on Saturdays. The place was so clean compared to other places we've been. My kids want to join a bowling league now and they offer several days. It's about 15 minutes from our house but it's close to the highway.”

Wilderness Trails Animal Park
Sep 9, 2009 by Kim from Grand Blanc, Michigan

  • Playground.
  • Employee at petting zoo, landscaping poor, butterfly house poor.

“I have visited several times and gave great reviews. Unfortunately, our visit on 9-7-09 was quite poor. All of the Iguana cages were closed down. Several areas animals were not seen. Appearance of butterfly house was poor. In the animal petting area, the employee of Wilderness Trail gave no greeting to visitors and instructions regarding what the children were allowed to do with the animals. She opened up the gate for the donkey stall, told children to enter. He was acting jumpy, like he was going to kick. I then heard her make a rude statement to one of the concerned child's grandmother when she was asking the child to come out. It appeared that the donkey was backing the child to back of fence. The rude statement aimed at the grandmother resulted in a curse word and the employee rudely demanded the grandmother to leave. She appeared unfriendly from the beginning and not qualified to work with children. As leaving, I then overheard the grandmother talking with a manager who appeared unconcerning and basically stating, well, I'm sorry. My family, friends, and I from Clio, Grand Blanc, and Burton, will not be returning.”

Holiday Shores Campground
Aug 25, 2009 by young from north
Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Clean.
  • No picnic area, to quiet, not much to do for yearly fee.

“Retiree Park not for families with young children. Great if your retired and like to sleep all day, park was dead. No activities for the young or young at heart.”

American Campgrounds Inc

  • There were lots of stuff for children to do.
  • No fish is caught, are there really fish in the lake?

“The salesman said we could go on the spur of the moment (sometimes we get a Friday off, and have a long weekend) wrong! You have to make a reservation and whenever you call, if you're lucky enough to actually have someone answer the phone, they are full! It sure isn't worth the money if you can't ever go! What are we paying this for?”

Oak Grove Resort
Jul 21, 2009 by Eric from St. Louis
Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Shady.
  • Small sites and muddy.

“Pulling into the campground it seemed very nice and very shaded. As we drove through looking for our spot we noticed that most of the sites were long term renters and the sites seemed pretty close together. When we finally found our spot it was an all dirt one that was about 3 feet shorter than our trailer. We stuck out into the street. It was also tightly wedged between another camping spot and just a few feet away from a cabin. There was barely enough room for our awning. For $13 extra per night for the kids and a dog I wasn't impressed with staying in a too small mud pit for our vacation. We weren't moved to another site so we went to another campground instead. They did refund the fees though so it wasn't a total loss. Other sites did look better so you may have a better experience than we did.”
